Election time in Derry again? Taking it with a lorry load of salt.

They're ahead of schedule, they had one only a couple of months ago. It's silly season alright.

Let's hope they fix that massive slope, imagine the bounce off the ball going down that

Don't know why they do that at all, though have seen some of their dcfc articles appear verbatim and uncredited online.

I'm willing to be corrected, but believe that is a proper thing. Though possibly being misused here.

They've not used the paper's full proper name, so can put it in quotes. Perhaps should only be when original name is actually modified so Belfast Telegraph becomes "tele". Or your man Julian's "the utv".

A second article appeared, slightly easier to make out, gist seems to be we should expect some kind of decision/announcement in next few days rather than non specific future time frame.

Again take with unhealthy amount of salt, it is the " journal" after all.

I just thought it was quite something that in an article purporting to be an exclusive the paper's name was written that way.

Just makes me read it like it was a joke and a nod and a wink.

Newspapers have different style guides and some, particularly old papers, use quotation marks for newspaper titles. Italics are more common.

I know I know. I was making a very weak joke about how the Journal appeared to not have the gumption to stand by their own "exclusive".

Perhaps they're so used to putting "Derry" and "Londonderry" in quotation marks they got confused and put "Journal" in too.

Not a bad grant at all for a private company/business. Having the minister for sport as a local TD must have helped, or does Micheal Ring handle this area. What do the Mounted Games Association of Ireland do?

    Artist’s impression of new Brandywell:

Funding approved as well, apparently. Will still only believe it when I see it.
