Question Could Skys new deal with the Football league be bad for the Eircom league?

I think it could be because with all these extra matches they probabley will not pursue their interest in acquiring the rights to show live el games.
Also, they plan to show live matches on Friday nights, thus, going head to head with the majority of el matches.

I don't think that too many people would be that interested in Stockport Vs Norwich though. If they're that easily distracted from going to an EL match, they wouldn't have gone in the first place.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Still though, Sky should have had it as a condition from the FAI that they had to give domestic coverage of some sort.

Sky will be showing live coverage of the FAI Cup semis & final.

With the move to summer football the eL isn't trying to directly take on the Premiership anymore. Current 'strategy' seems to be to get supporters on the back of the increasing interest in the Premiership.
