    FAI Welcome Waterford investment

Football Association of Ireland Chief Executive Officer, John Delaney, this evening welcomed the "significent investment" in Waterford Regional Sports Centre which was announced today by the Mayor of Waterford, Councillor Hilary Quinlan.

The investment of some €750,000, involves a joint initiative between the Department of Arts, Sport and Tourism, Waterford City Council and the FAI.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Its good that its not Uniteds money anyway .... council really haven't ever done them any favours. You'd have to imagine that it will still be the same even after this money is invested.

Maybe United should throw their weight around a bit more, try to garner a better deal for themselves.

Personally ..... i wouldn't put any money into it. That running track is a nightmare, its an atmosphere killer !!

Yeah the RSC is terrible stadium. Is the trace even used for athletics as seems in poor state anyway.

Side opposite to the Stand is very narrow so little opportunity for development i'd have guessed.

Anyone know what they spending €700k on?
