Not denying McLaughlin has done ok in NI but it's a different ball game down South in an almost fully professional Premier Division with a Dundalk squad that looks to be a mess of recruitment that it would be a very difficult job even for a seasoned manager with LOI experience to take on. Dundalk can't mess up with their eventual hire otherwise it may be back to the First Division

If Dundalk leave it too long their new manager won't be able to get to know the squad before the summer transfer window and will struggle to bring in necessary reinforcements, they could also end up competing with Derry for manager candidates if they leave it too long and both these scenarios could end up in the drop as well. If they think McLaughlin is their man they need to get him in ASAP.

Would Dundalk fans like Perth back. He knows the club very well and has been successful in his different spells there.

Paddy McLaughlin would be a cracking appointment for Dundalk. They'd want to be getting him in place before Derry go after him once Higgins is inevitably given the boot too.

Heard DFC have made an approach for Ian Baraclough, he's assistant in the Cheltenham job, and they should be relegated soon freeing him up, not sure he will be interested, plus he will have bigger options, then again the NI job won't have done him any favours in getting his name out there.

Still prob pick up a role in UK.

For all the beggers cant be choosers stuff i'd be disappointed with Baraclough. Not so much that he cant do a job but that he cant do this job imo.

Doesn't appear to be much 'love' on DFC socials for PML.

From what I'm reading on socials that have a Dundalk fan connection he's currently the preferred choice atm.
I think it will either be him or Paddy McLaughlin and I'd be happy with either of them.

Fully agree, Daire was an absolutely brilliant manager, couldn't speak highly enough of him

Jonathan Hill finaly gone from the FAI.
So the FAI might actually have a CEO who is based in this country going forward.
Only the FAI could have thought an organisation with staff morale on the floor could be cured by hiring an English man to work from England via teams .....
Everyone involved in that decison should go with him.

Well he did tell a big porky when he got the job that he would move over. Once he didn’t then I felt you could never trust anything he said. We won’t even start on all his “commercial contacts”
