Good appointment if it comes to fruition. Has worked with Fenlon previously so knows what to expect and did well with Waterford in his time there. Not to mention having worked with the u21 team would be aware of what Bohs and other teams in the league have coming through which could be valuable. Surprised he's willing to give up the u21 job though as I had heard it is something he really loves doing.

    2004 Waterford United
    2008 Derry City (Assistant manager)
2014–2015 St Patrick's Athletic (Assistant manager)
    2016 Cork City (Assistant manager)
    2017–2020 Waterford
    2020 Dundalk (Assistant manager)
2020– Republic of Ireland U21 (Assistant manager)
    2021 Shelbourne (Assistant manager)
    2022–2023 Derry City (Assistant manager)
    2023– Waterford (Assistant manager)

He has a decent CV, thought he was a great appointment as coach to DFC in 2020, left due to the basket case of P6 part 2 and he was right.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

Some disappointed reactions from Bohs fans but think that's a perfectly good appointment myself. Granted not heap of experience as the main man but he's done well as one, as well as having a great reputation as an assistant and from most people that have worked with him. Could certainly do a lot worse from the limited options you have in this league.

so that's nine different LOI clubs who will have hired Reynolds as player or staff.. presumably a record?

He's almost completed the PD table from 2020

Please spare a thought for the Bohs fan who bricked Reynolds' car 20 years ago at this difficult time for him

I wasn't sure about that - but wiki says Home Farm Everton sold their licence to Ronan Seery, who became Home Farm Fingal for one year before becoming Dublin City. So I think they are separate clubs.

Roddy Collins has been involved with nearly every club in the league as either player or manager at some point. Thankfully never at Harps though..

Happy enough with that one myself.

yes by my count Roddy's on 10 current* clubs, plus three** ware no longer in the league

    *not distinguishing between Waterford Utd/WFC)
**having listened to his book, I'm not sure he ever actually played for St Francis in a proper match

I'll always back the Bohs manager who ever he is and whether I agree with his appointment or not. My jury has to remain out with this one as he has never held a leading role, so it's up to him to prove to me and the others who may be unsure that he is the right man. I truly and honestly wish him well in his new appointnent and hope he offers some new dimensions to our game.
If we get anything at tallaghfornia next week he'll be a hero to many for a few weeks at least.
    Good luck Alan

Don't let facts get in the way of a good rant. Otherwise you may as well shut down the whole site.

Same as with us but if his consortium had taken charge of us in 08 he would have come to us as mgr!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

He managed the Blues to the first division title in 2017 I think and followed that up with a fourth place finish the following season. As a player manager with Waterford back in 04, managed the club to the FAI cup final and unfortunately lost due to some incompetence by the match officials.
