Im sick of him writing in the indo http://www.unison.ie/irish_independe...issue_id=12648 of shels "losing out" in not playing a big team like liverpool/Celtic in the first round qualifiers for the Champions League. When is he finally going to cop on and realise the goal is to get into the group stages of the competition and meeting a big team before the 3rd round is a diaster ??

the days of drawing the big team are gone, we need to progress through rounds in europe nowadays. The only consolation is that sh!t coverage is better than no coverage.

I'd have to agree with ye all so far, what a load of rubbish! Did ye read his "The Bootroom" article also on Wednesday? More crap about thuggery leading to the death of the EL. I agree, these incidents shouldn't be happening and they are wrong, but they happen in all sports everywhere, you only have to look at the Gaa as an example! His plan to wind up or amalgamate all of the current EL clubs and hold public meetings to select 16 franchises nationwide (4 in Dublin) to play in a new restructured league is another beauty! What would happen to the traditions and fans of the current clubs if such a thing happened! Just imagine the likes of Sligo Rovers and Finn Harps having to amalgamate, it would never happen, where would the matches be played?? Rubbish plan!
