All five of the Wexford Youths players who went to Southern United started in this weekend's local derby with Canterbury United which Southern lost 3-1. Eric Molloy got the goal for Southern and that's two league defeats on the trot. The match was played in one of Southern's home grounds - the Forsyth Barr Stadium - a covered multi-sport stadium like a giant glasshouse which holds 30,000. Almost like Ferrycarrig then except we don't allow other sports.

Southern were beaten 4-0 at the weekend and already look cast somewhat adrift at the bottom of the NZ league with only one point from four matches. No sign of Danny Furlong being announced as a Southern player that I can see.
Danny Furlong now announced as a Southern United player and in the squad for this weekend's match against Wellington. With only one point so far, Southern need to turn their season around quickly.
Southern won their second match in a row this weekend by beating Hamilton Wanderers 4-0 with two goals from Eric Molloy and one from Danny Furlong.
Won their third match in a row at the weekend with two goals from Eric Molloy and one from Stephen Last in a 3-1 win.
Eric Molloy has signed for Wellington for the coming season. Might be wrong, but they seem to have won the NZ league last year while Southern finished bottom. No relegation I think in NZ. Eric also won goal of the season in NZ last year.
