    So this is Christmas

So this is Christmas, a time full of fun
Another season over, all the cups have been won
Postmortems are over, we look to next year
Discussing the transfers, whilst downing the beer

So this is Christmas, and down Longford way
Max Power and Longfordian, are still holding sway
As the FAI cup champions, with the league cup to boot
Their producing DVD's, and counting the loot.

So this is Christmas, and to Colm's delight
On Cork City's horizon, the future looks bright
But your supporters are fickle, it's quite clear to me
For they threatened last July, to chuck Pat in the Lee.

So this is Christmas, will Santa Claus come
To help Shamrock Rovers, get up off their bum
By ditching Directors, dodgy Collins as well
Then Young Hoop and the locals, in Tallagh can gel.

So this is Christmas, and still there is hope
Alive down in Limerick, or so says Joe Soap
A millionaire's taking over, not short of a quid
There'll be no more complaining, from Sad Loser Kid.

So this is Christmas, you've all had your say
From Pineapple Students, to Tarzans in Bray
    From Saints4Ever, out at Inchicore
To Girls down in Galway, on the Atlantic shore.

I wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year
As I close down my station, and go on the beer
But may I observe, as I head for door.
Your ponderings amused me, I look forward to more.

Yo, Ho. Ho. Merry Christmas everyone.
