No, they stood lifeless, in front of us, looking at us and blocked our view of the game.

Good, that's what we told them to do at out weekly 'Up the Dubs, we all hate Cork' meeting. They'll all get a bag King crisps and a cup of Lyons tea at next weeks meeting.

the stewards stood on the pitch, between the pitch and the fans ? and watched the crowd and not the match ?? the monsters.
If that doesnt stink of anti-cork stewarding, i don't know what does.

Plus, its not as if it would ever be a good thing to have stweards between the two sets of fans, no chance that would ever have been a good thing as 30 local pikeys moved towards you.
There is no excuse for it

They could have been cardboard cutouts I'm not entirely sure and one lad was the image of Ricky Gervais.
The stewards in front of the Shed on the other side at least crouched down.

    This is getting bizarre.
So as well as standing stationary and not walking up and down to further obscure you, one of them had the balls to possibly, maybe be from Dublin and look like ricky Gervais !!! No wonder Cork bottled it

seriously man, your grievances are mental

    His jokes were awful too
Don't tell anyone this but some of the them were ladies.

Lookid, there's a long list, I've only tipped the iceberg
It'll all be done through the correct channels and probably won't get us anywhere but some issues need to be raised.

Congrats to Dundalk and enjoy the celebrations.

Cork fans deserve great credit for their support on Friday and all season, they certainly deserved better than having a small bunch of complete knobs goading them at full time.

City's record all season has been phenomenal... 72 points would win most league titles, and when you consider that's an AVERAGE of 7.2 points against every team in the league bar Dundalk it's an amazing stat. Indeed they outscored a pretty excellent Dundalk side by a full seven points against the bottom 10 (as we Dundalk and Cork fans like to refer to the rest of you!). It'll be interesting to see if they can kick on next season, they'll have a slightly tougher fixture list and I think they'll need to find an extra dimension to take the next step.

That's a bit of an irrelevant stat. Plenty of teams have won the league with 2/3 games to go and gone drinking for weeks

    Which ones?

How many over the last 10 years in the premier division?

Is that pundit arena run by a Cork fan? Their pics from the final game came from the away end and they were stupid enough to put up that bottle post on Facebook after the Bray game.

The LOI Blog is now a Cork fan page by all accounts.

They live tweet all Caulfield's press conferences so I think the main guy is from there.

If they live tweeted the referees' meetings where they all agree on how they're going to invent phantom fouls against Cork this week, then I'd be impressed.

Then they'd have to go to Dublin and you know we never like leaving the "real" capital.
Safer meeting JC up the airport.

Explains why Alan "Dub Sympathiser" Kelly was run out of the country so. I wouldn't want to get on your people's bad side, even if I could relax safely in the knowledge no physical pressure would be exerted upon me by the notoriously pacifistic Corkmen.

I think Buttimer had it covered.

Buttimer wasn't even born the last time a Cork player committed a foul.

Anorak alert! I was looking at some stats for the season. One major feature for Dundalk was a settled first team. Dundalk used just 19 players in the league (including Keith Ward who made 1 sub appearance) with just 16 different starters.
The first team was remarkably settled with none of the usual 11 playing less that 28 times (starts+subs):
    Cherrie (33)
    Massey (33), Gannon (32+1), Gartland (30), Boyle (32)
    Shield (27+1), Horgan (33), Towell (33), Meenan (26+6)
    Hoban (30+2), Byrne (25+6)
Substitutes were noticeably consistent too with McMillan coming on 21 times (3 starts), Mountney 14 times (7 starts) and Higgins 17 times (6 starts). Girffin (10) and McDermott (11) both made double figures without starting a game. The others to feature: O'Donnell (9+3), Rossiter (4+2), Ward (0+1)

  24. Thanks From:
