Barraclough tips Limerick FC for Europe

    http://www.limerickfc.ie/sligo-manager-tips-lfc

From what I've seen so far, Limerick should be capable of challenging in the top half at least. There should be something of a clearer picture after 11 games.

For long periods last night i thought when i was watching sligo that i was watching a Pat Scully team. long balls all over the place all about getting the ball out wide to cross for elding who was firmly in the pocket of MOTM Brian O'Callaghan last night. Make no mistake Limerick played any football that was on show last night as we came up against a big phisical, imobile long ball team. Alan Kelly is clearly the only ref in the division as Rob Rodgers just wanted to leave with his windows intact so only reffed one side. If Dave O'Leary was playing we would have won, easily. Maybe we should just play him at home, as the reffing at both away games thus far has been terrible. Ryans red at the end was silly. Ref had his hand in his back pocket when he blew the final whistle knowing some idiot would approch giving out about the non peno.

Limerick fans were excellent last night inside and outside the ground, unfortunate that the windows of the bus were put in and hope everyone got home safely after

and he still scored one and set up the winner.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

Watched limerick twice this season. Great footballing side I think top half finish from them would be justified if they keep playing like they are.

I think last night (and the week before) showed our limitations off pretty well. Not great upfront and not a lot of depth in the squad. You can't operate on the hope you won't have injury problems. Right now, I'd confidently declare we're better than UCD, Shels, Bray and Bohs, and around the same level of Cork and Drogs. So, with improvement, we could finish just inside the top half, but no further.

No fear of relegation anyway, but Europe? Not this year.

I tend to agree with that, but you never know. We have a couple of very effective players injured at the moment. With some refereeing decisions we might have hoped to get we could be 4 points better off now. Here's hoping for some luck and a win on Tuesday.

Yeah, I'd have to go along with that. At the same time though, you'd hope the side will improve as the season goes on. Same will apply to a number of teams who are finding their feet.
