Suspensions carried over from 2012: http://www.extratime.ie/newsdesk/art...n-2013-season/
Every time I see a first division fixture list it appears to be missing games, but of course it's still only an eight team division with only 4 games any given week. Waterford will need to get off to a good start this season.

A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.
Opportunity lost for new clubs/regions to join the LoI family.

Just in from Thomond park. The pitch is not in good nick and as it stands it won't make for great football to be played on.
Are the bars in Thomond being opened for this? I'd just head out there early afternoon and stay there drinking till KO.
Premier Odds:
Bohs - 10/11 Draw - 9/4 UCD - 3/1
Bray - 15/8 Draw - 11/5 Shels - 11/8
Derry - 2/1 Draw - 21/10 Sligo - 11/8
Dundalk - 4/1 Draw - 13/5 Rovers - 4/6
St Pats - 8/11 Draw - 5/2 Drogs - 7/2
Limerick - 13/8 Draw - 21/10 Cork - 13/8
1st Div:
Salthill - 6/1 Draw - 10/3 Longford - 4/11
Waterford - 5/6 Draw - 9/4 Harps - 3/1
Athlone - 10/11 Draw - 9/4 Mervue - 13/5
Cobh - 15/8 Draw - 11/5 Wexford - 5/4
Harps, Cobh and Drogheda treble looks decent returns.
Any Pats fans confident or otherwise about the side this season??
Giovanni Trapattoni is to attend the opening night fixture between St. Pat's and Drogheda: http://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/3942/...ricity-league#
Token gesture - he's in Dublin this weekend anyway to announce the senior international squad for the Sweden and Austria games - or is he actually keeping an eye on someone?
This weekend I really like:
Longford to beat Salthill @1.5 odds are too big
Athlone at home to beat Mervue @1.9 Same as above
Finn Harps to beat waterford @4.5 and Finn Harps DC @1.93 Same as above
Odds with Laddies.
Won't be putting any money on the first fixtures. League is too unpredictable.
But Cobh to beat Wexford at home, 15/8 looks big to me.
Cork 13/8, Drogs 3/1, Champs 13/10 23/1 treble.
Athlone rovers and Cobh treble looks tasty
I got a free bet out of Paddypower this weekend (only 2 euro, but at least it's something considering how much I've wasted on them in the past year or two), so I've stuck on four first division games.
Done Longford, Harps, Cobh and Athlone all to win. Would return a cool 60 bucks. Fingers crossed.

Cork are a great price they have the advantage of playing competitive games in sentanta cup while limerick have alot of new players and will need time to gel
Massively looking forward to Friday. Absolutely buzzing for the league start and annoying already friends and work colleagues with all my LOI talk. You have to forgive them though, they don't know better. Game of choice will be Bohs v UCD for me, hope there is a decent crowd at Dalymount and some fine football on offer, even though I feel that could be an impossible task, as the pitch at Dalymount has been in awful state when I've seen it the last time for the LSC game...
Betting wise I'm on Shels, Drogs, Harps and Athlone, also a small over 2,5 goals combo with the Bray, Limerick and Derry game. Hoping for a good year from a punting perspective again. Have my bets up on my betting blog as always: http://irischer-fussball.blogabet.com/
Also, have a bit too much time today, so was producing this little poster out of pure excitement:
Info for cork fans but also I would think useful for other travelling support through the season.

handy that they are letting us drink in the ground but they are being very strict on banners and tifos for some reason. Had heard that during the week and afaik the club are taking some of our stuff in for us ahead of the game
