Just as long as you don't try to play any friendlies there.

That kind of carry on could really screw over Salthill.

The attendance at that Athlone Town v Salthill game would have been DIRE if that friendly hadn't been cancelled.

Terryland didnt have an inspection or Engineers Cert. is that not a pre-requisite for a Licence being awarded?

It's like a point is being made than the LoI is one club away from concrete discussions of the possibility of a 16 team premier. It's pointless discussing it when 16 clubs have not shown they can obtain the licence required.

Throws out a glimmer of hope but alas the only hope for both clubs seems to be the creation of a Second Division below the First Division that is only wishful thinking is all.

I think the fact is that Limerick have nominated Jackman Park for home games this season. They probably had no intention of playing in an empty Thomond Park this season which is most likely the reason they weren't given a Premier Licence. A Premier licence would have no doubt been given to them had they said they'd be playing in Thomond Park this year.

deal in facts please. im just glad the clubs were helped over the line in the prem cos having longford (24pts) waterford (24pts) or athlone (34pts) behind us, going up ahead of us would have been a bitter pill. Glad we didnt get a meaningless prem licence when playing in the first.

Plus a few more naturally e.g. GUST, Carlow and entice Castlebar and Tullamore back into the national scene. 6 teams over three series would have one more game than last years A Championship. The finances involved surely wouldn't be too much different?

It's terrible just to be left with wishful thinking...

Over the winter before the first division fixtures were announced, it was looking good that League of Ireland football would be coming to the Kingdom. It's disappointing and frustrating that it has not happened. I was in Austin Stack Park on Saturday night for Kerry v Armagh. Shame about the result and our performance but it was good to go to the game under lights and take in the game. It'd be great to have the same opportunity to watch a local side in the League of Ireland but anyways maybe in the years ahead the dream will come through.

I agree here, that it would be great to see a Kerry team in the LOI, but its a Kerry team under the Kerry banner that is the only viable financial option in my view, not a Kerry team flying the "Dynamos" banner. It should be looked at again!

You have to look at history and other experiences. Newbridge Town entered the LoI as Kildare County. The belief being it'd garner more support. Personally I think they should've entered as Newbridge Town and maybe after a few years if there were getting on ok in the league maybe reform the club for being more for their county.

Tralee Dynamos have been putting in a lot of hard work and should rightly be looking to join the league as the club and entity that they are.

When they do get in, which I hope they will in years to come, they need to earn the support of the county if that is what they want. The best way to start is summer soccer camps around the county and working with local clubs in those areas.

Similarly as to what I was saying regards Newbridge Town and Kildare County, if Dynamos ever get in, maybe after a few years with consulation they could look for a change of direction.

I wouldn't support this idea for established League of Ireland clubs but new clubs still in they infancy can make that change.

There's been some harsh comment on SD Galway but after a few years in the league as they have been, this is the time for such a change of direction. Their hand has been forced a bit by the goings of with GUST etc. but it'll be interesting in away to see how SD Galway get on. The shadow of GUST hangs over them though so it won't exactly be the same scenario in that respects.

Eh..wut? I wasn't trying to suggest you wouldn't be in the Premier or anything nor am I trying to put down Limericks licence decision in any way. Take a chill pill there boyo.
