    John O'Shea is Irelands top paid athlete. Graeme McDowell for the north.

    Lewis Hamilton is Englands, which is kind of surprising.

    Edit - and the Maltese league are paying a salary of over a million?!

    And there's a really incredible amount of money in motor sports.

    Wouldn't it be a bit skewed though, as a lot of the personal sponsorship money goes in via the teams in motorsports? Where as in football (for example) the personal sponsorship money would go direct to the player and not be included?

    Bit unusual to describe earnings as 'annual salary' in the case of golf, boxing and a couple of other sports listed there.
