It's been a long time since I posted so consider that please...
I think that as a community, League of Ireland fans have to shoulder the fact that there was no real realism in regard to what was going on. I know that as Longford Town supporters the questions started to flow when we hit the fan... That is to say that the majority of supporters asked how this could happen as opposed to where is the money coming from. I suggest it's something which came from all other areas of life.
I feel sorry for Derry City fans today because they got caught out. In one manner or another every club had an opportunity to cheat the system in order to remain competitive. Some in small ways, others in deceitful ways.
As a Town supporter, I maybe obvious but I always hated the way supporters of other clubs who spent time in European competition chastised us for letting the league down. All some cared about was co-efficients. Something tangible to support the pie in the sky notions that this league offered something superior to what it actually is.
Derry are a huge loss to the league , Big team and great support but its about time the FAI has enforced the rules. Feel sorry for the fans
This is very harsh indeed on Derry City fans, the league of Ireland wont be the same without them..
Really?

Do keep up.
There's a 50 odd page thread on this at the very top of this forum
No offence taken even do it does seem I was gloating was meant rally upset for the fans of what was a great club but the rest is what I see.
Agree Delaney is a joke! Dont think the fai think anything out. From the cup final been held in 6000 seater stadium,( cant figure out for the life of me who they hoped was in the final,to the running of the league. Other clubs are in a mess and been let roam free.;They have no real interest in the league imo!
Thaks for the good wishes and hope we bring it home too be good for the Northwest!
Till d End!
With Kildare reportedly gone and Derry probably heading for the A Championship, will this year's A clubs be up for election to fill the last slot? Salthill-Kildare is probably off at any rate.
some mighty tags on this thread ...
Havin a weekend away is quite frankly, lettin ur team mates down!
I think the FAI are safe from legal action no matter whether they have a case or not. Wellvan will most likely be liquidated before they ever get near court.

Mr A why would they ask to do an underhand deal ( deal to keep hush about other clubs doing the same ) in exchange for keeping a first division place. I would say it could be Dave Rodgers the player in question whos gone to the FAI having his final say. He left Derry in bad animosity for being accused of thieving, and only played a few ganes for us
Because they really want a Derry team in the league?

Shame a big blow for Football in the Northwest here hope to God they back into the LOI or even IL as soon as possible
In all fairness how much longer can the powers at be in the FAI put up with the shambolic work that is coming from Gavin and Delaney, surely there are 2 more competent individuals who could do a better job and not cause so much bloody trouble and not make this country's professional league look like a bloody soap opera!
