    Expectations?

First of all congradulations on your promotion last season lads.I have to say thank you also as i won a few euro on your club after betting at nice odds of 20/1 at the start of the season...

Anyway i am just wondering what your expectations are for the season?Obviously staying in the top division i suppose. What sort of crowds do you expect this season and do you think many fans will travel to away games? With a name like Dublin City do you think that you will eventually become one of the bigger clubs in the country?

I know everyone involved with the club, is prepared to pull out all the stops to ensure our Premier Division status for the next twelve months. We are not gonna pretend its going to be easy, but it can be attained.

John Gill has made a number of good signings, and it remains to be seen, how the lads will take to the higher standard.

    Long Term:

Its gonna be interesting, but I for one think it will be slightly better home crowds (supporting the vikings) next season. While not anything to really write home about, it will be a marked improvement, and providing the club can stay up, (which I personally think they will), they will become one of the leading clubs in the country over the next five years.

Looking forward to a few away trips this season. We really only get eight trips away this season (Waterford, Cork Derry & Longford x 2)

So we have to make the most of them.

    Question

Lads, is Aidan'Jacko' Smith still part of Dublin Citys committee?

He had two spells with Longford in the nineties and he was well liked by us.

He will get a great welcome along with Wes Byrne-one of our all time greats and Robbie Farrell who spent a seaso nwith us.

    Brings back memories!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

i'd be glad if we just stay up. it a big jump for us. I think with the merchandise, name & marketing planned we'll grow our support. i think we'll have the sexiest product to sell in Dublin. Away support wasn't great last year. places like Cork are hard to get to ( on a Friday evening, squashed like sardines on a train or bus). Cork i'm sure benifets from x-pats living in Dublin for away games.

A comfortable 8th place would be nice...with a healthy cup run.
But staying up by ANY means has to be priority number one.

As far as fans goes, I'd say there will be a decent increase at the start of the season, so hopefully if they have a good opening people will stick with them.
Personally I know a few friends who intend to come out and support them for the first time.

Was just thinking, a good idea to boost the gate at home fixtures would be to post a visable list (or on a week to week basis) in the Carrolls stores saying in nice big letters "DCFC Vs ....." with the venue and date...couldn't hurt surely?

Yeah, Jacko is a member of the set up with the Vikings, he is the goal keeping coach for the first team, and the manager of the U21's. Nice bloke,

Wes and Robbie will be around the club this season, i'm sure they're looking forward to getting back to Flancare Park too.

We had a poster in every Carroll's window for all our home games last season. We also had an ad in chinese, in "The shining Emerald News" ( a kind of Northside people for chinese!!!!!!

Is Robbie Farrell as good in real life as he was in Championship Manager?

What a player he was in that game, always scored at least 30 a season
    Oh no not them again

Robbie wasn't as good last season as he can be. Got better towards the end of the season. He's got a new haircut, which might help the flight of the ball
