    Talk of Gazza and City.......!

On some other thread below there was talk of City going after Gazza.
I was pondering over the idea and then thought, wouldn't it be hilarious if we decided to sign him for the 2005 season........when we were the European Capital of Culture ......... talk about a contradiction in terms..........culture - Gazza!

We could parade him all around the country at away matches, and for home games, put him in a glass box up by the TV gantry on the DF Stand.

I reckon it would add 2,000 to the gate alone.........remember the interest David Blaine created and he just sat there. Gazza would be hopping around like one of those little black and white monkeys in Fota.

The only problem is convincing the City Fathers we wern't takin' the pi$$ out of them.

    It's a thought though.

We'd get about 10 thousand Celtic fans comin to the X just to boo Gazza after his flute playing antics for rangers.

Seriously i'd love to see us get him, surely the eircom league has to be better than the mongolian third division or wherever fat gaz was last year.

Imagine the show boating that would go on with Gazza and Georgie in the same side though, the other nine players could just go for a bag of chips or something while the two boys try to best each other with flicks and step overs golare.

Naw i'd say fat gaz still has a few nice touchs on him. He'd probably have to go into the horseshoe to fuel his tank before the game though.Four or five red bulls and vodka and he'd sail through the 90 minutes.

I would love to see him play for city though all jokes aside.Imagine the hype around the place. The X would sell out aswell i've no doubt about it.

Only benefit that I could see would be in de higher profile for CCFC. All media coverage would be welcome for sponsors etc.

I think we should all chip in to pay for him... he would guarentee full houses all over the country... the sheer amount out to BOO him would guarentee the future of this league...

De groundsmen would be against it - all that blubbering would render Turner's X into a quagmire.

A true showman, he'd be worth it for a season.
I'd say he could teach Georgie a thing or 2.

    On and off the pitch.

Agree 100% razor, love to see him join city. He's a legend even if his career has nose dived the last 4 or 5 years. The goal he got against scotland at euro 96 is one of the best of all time imo.

    Gazza for city......

Would Gazza be happy to sit on the bench ? After all he surely wouldn't expect to start ahead of CT, Greg, Nwanko and Kearney

Can't see it happening for practicla reasons.
I'm not sure we could fit both Dolan and four bellies into the one dug out.

Who's lost weight? Gazza,Dolan or jimmy 5 bellies?

Gazza hasn't been sitting in the dentist chair with Robbie Fowler, Teddy Sheringham and steve McManaman as much as he used to in the old days.

The guy would cost too much money better spent on Cork City. his own personal problems are ones that need help and support that include his family/ies therefore his time would be split between the U.K and Cork LOB can be your proof that the club has to be first what we want as a pro team Those issues the baggage that comes with Gazza through no fault of his own but we don't need that. He was great footballer a few years ago who wouldn't of taken him but now I'm sorry to say his best skills would be off the field behind a staff. Not worth the wages anymore and not good for the future of the team. Just my view take it with salt but I just think it is a distraction the club doesn't need just to get an extra gate we want fans for life not just for Christmas.
    It's only just begun...............

Thats true the sunshine supporters would pour out of the woodwork wearing there Gazza City jerseys and would be gone just as quickly when the big man decided lee-side wasn't as good as tyneside.

I don't care though I would still personally love to see Gazza play for City even if it was just for a season.Even if he has 25% of the skill he once had,it would be brilliant to watch him in action.

The pubs around the X would experience a savage boom in business too with gaz, jimmy 5 bellies and the rest of there buddies around.
