'O'Neill did good thing with McCarthy, at last - Koeman': https://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2017...t-last-koeman/
Koeman with some barbed "praise" for the Irish management team there, but it's very positive news that McCarthy is expected to be back within a week or two. Hopefully, he'll be available for the play-offs, as his presence should more than compensate for the loss of Meyler.Originally Posted by Ronald Koeman

The way Everton are performing, I think he'll get chances if he remains fit.
Looks like McCarthy is play tonight in the league cup (in the Indo) which is brilliant news

If ever there was a game to get McCarthy, Arter and Hendrick on the field at the same time for : )
Bring Back Belfast Celtic F.C.
Reports that he's injured his hamstring again and looks like he'll be out for a few months
Jesus poor fella might as well retire if that's true. Twitter reports or what?
James is out for months not weeks
It happened in a training session. Little doubt that Koeman's hands are all over this latest setback.
McCarthy out and Whelan in could be the difference in us not going to the world cup. Just terrible news
To be honest McCarthy hasn’t played enough football lately to be in with a serious chance of playing well .
I fear for his football career if he cannot show an ability to stay fit . Is he one that played too much football at too early an age ?
That's a serious blow for the lad and for Ireland too.
I dont want to give us false hope, but still no official confirmation of this
