Dreadful news and a massive loss to all who knew him. May Ryan RIP.
Terribly tragic to lose Ryan so unexpectedly.
I loved watching him play. Got to see him in the flesh at Tallaght a few weeks ago where he scored the winner and was an absolute pillar at the back when Derry were down to 10 and they were under seige. A real tough CB!!
Deepest condolences to everyone at Derry City.

There's been an online fundraiser set up here for anyone who'd like to donate to help the McBride family cover the cost of Ryan's funeral: https://www.gofundme.com/ryan-mcbride

So hard to come to terms with all this. So sorry for his friends and family and everyone connected with Derry City FC. Just horrible horrible news to hear about.
Very sad news. Sincere condolences to Ryan's family, friends & all supporters of Derry City. RIP Ryan.
RIP Ryan ..... awful loss!
I only heard the sad loss of Ryan when my brother in law said it to me that a league of Ireland footballer has died.I had to check extra time just in case.I am stunned beyond belief by what happened. May he rest in peace and the fai have done the right thing in calling off all matches even if it is an inconvenience if you had planned to go to a match.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Very sad news. Some small solace may be drawn from the fact that he lived his dream and did so right until the end. My condolences to all involved with Derry, but above all to his family. Rest in peace.
For all the good that it'll do, I felt like this was the only thing I should draw today... RIP, Ryan, the Derry City community have been put through an awful lot lately...
Fair play AV!
There can't have been many that were as proud and as honoured to wear the Derry City shirt as Ryan McBride.
You seem to have captured that perfectly.
Outstanding piece of work as always.

Lovely piece on MNS about him too.
Terrible news this. Always a player any fan would want in their team.
It's weird to think that just over a week ago I was watching this man score the winner against us, thinking could we sign him next year, he was Derry through and through though so that never would have happened, but if anything that just increased my respect for the man. RIP Ryan you'll be missed by everyone associated with football in Ireland
There was a very good piece in Dermot Keelys column today in the Sun.Just before he joined Dundalk he played against Brian McConville elder brother of Tommy and he dropped dead at age 35 just after he played a game for St Pats Athletic.

Brian McConville had been suffering from what was just described as a cold or virus and pushed on through regardless.
