About half an hour north of a place called Alamosy. Yeah, I was on my way to Boulder to visit some friends. Great city.

Also saw a grizzly in the river eating a fish...Grizzly sighting are pretty rare.

It's sad that the Elk died, a lot of times they just jump up and are fine. Deer too. Especially in Stag season. They just look at you and mosey back into the woods.
hit him side on, as in he was facing the side of the road, doing about 65mph. He was thrown about five or six yards into a ditch. He might have been killed instantly, but he was definitely dead by the time the cops arrived.

Alamosa, where the sand dunes are? By the New Mex border? That's a pretty cool National Park. You can sled down them like if they were snow. Well, at 65 you could probably have gotten killed. So maybe you will be a new man now with a whole new outlook. Don't sweat the small stuff and such. Elk meat is actually pretty popular. It's gamey.

Where did you eat on Pearl Street? Did you see a place called "The Kitchen" by any chance? Or that Irish pub Conor O'Neills?

We drove up from Denver to Scottsbluff, Wounded Knee, Badlands and Mt. Rushmore last summer. On the way back we were caught in a Buffalo stampede in the Custer State Park... Fortunately they just weaved around the car, except the last straggler who licked the wing-mirror. Animals over there certainly pack a punch.

I've had to tell the story a few times over the last week or so, finally had time to put it all down on paper (well, metaphorical paper) http://tetsujin1979.blogspot.ie/2017...t-highway.html

Is there anything more laughable than the football push and shove which usually ends up as nothing but posturing (very rarely a head butt often feigned). The teams all run in squaring up to each other with nothing more than handbags on show. Now if is rugby or ICE HOCKEY, then watch out for the flailing punches but the football ones - they're a joke.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

Raise your fist in football and it's a straight red, in rugby it's "part of the game"

Today was a proud day for me. I don't care if someone see's this a bit of an ego trip posting here, I am proud of it. I handed in €775 to Pieta House North-West as proceeds from an EP I released just over a year ago. Written, recorded, all instruments played, edited, produced and all in between, I done the whole lot and I am damn proud of it.

Still with another 50 or 60 CD's to sell, and online donations still coming in drips and drabs, I'd love to see it reach €1,000 yet. But handing over that money today was a brilliant moment and I had my family there with me making it that bit better, especially my two young fellas, who may never have seen that moment had I not been pushed into counselling a handful of years ago by my partner.

Today has truly been a great day.

Congrats on being able to give back Nigel, very admirable. Impressed you can play all the instruments...Prince used to do that. What kind of music is it?

Thanks man, I'd love to have even a tenth of the talent Prince had. Music is sort of a laid back alternative style. I suppose you could give it a listen at https://nigelhegarty.bandcamp.com/releases

This hurricane is huge. Puerto Rico is in no financial shape to get pummeled either.

I just read the following sentence...

"The Glanbia group is the largest manufacturer of cheddar cheese in the world."

    WOW!

And I always thought you were partial to a bit of Brie, Bonnie.

I think we can all guess what bit.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Is there anything more awkward than rejecting the (much) younger sister of a bouncer at a late night bar that you frequent?

    Answers on a postcard.

I did buy her a drink, and I'm very frugal with money.

I no longer go to the aforementioned off licence (several pages back) in case you want an update.

Make of that what you Will.
