The company I work for are firing 30% of staff, which means my contract won't be renewed (am a happy camper), but in "cost-cutting" measures they are breaking their contract with Guinness-Heineken! With the quality of meat at an all time low (no decent imports) it's like end of times or something. Local beers are pretty cat, so right now it's deciding whether to buy some of the remaining kegs with my bonus and having a mega party, or some heavy winter clothes!

9am to 9pm on Tuesday... 830am to 930pm on Wednesday... Up til 3am this morning even after all that...

    College gets easier doesn't it?

And it's only the end if the first semester!

On the contrary, I slept in today and decided to skip the whole day as a result.

    College, eh?!

Damn you student types! Why did I spend my time being active and pretending to study, I have to return to Uni and relive my lost teenage years and listen to whatever the youngsters are listening to now!!! :-)

You really don't want to be doing that.

Back to Ireland on Wednesday, for the first Christmas at home in 3 years. It's just not the same in Sydney...

Finding out that you're top of the class in college is pretty sweet. Feeling like a right smarty-pants now. Pity it's not final results I'm getting and only first semester.

It really isn't. Christmas in Melbourne in 2005 was poop and I had a great gang around me. It convinced me to be home for Christmas forever more.

TCM, congrats! It is simply amazing to be home for this time of year.

Bonnie, agree, anywhere other than home is just NQR for Christmas. My last Christmas at home was 2007, I wanted to be home this year but ran out of time. Ireland is just brilliant at Christmas, much of it is "false" or maybe just the inner decency coming out, but walking along singing a song and smiling, just cannot be beaten!

On my mind tonight..how much I'm enjoying having a few days off college now and being able to work on music again.

Much fun recording random ideas that come into my head and making them into songs in the space of an hour or two..

I went to upload a song I recorded onto my Soundcloud account last night and copped on that a cover I done of Hozier - Take Me To Church had amassed over 6,500 plays in 2 months..around 6,000 of that since my last visit less than a month ago. That was one of those "uh...what?" moments. Safe to say, it's pretty cool to see something like that after struggling to do much with music in the past few years. Suppose it's a sign of the times that cover songs are what grab the attention now.

Either way, the song I uploaded was altogether very different, much more in the style of Tool or Amplifier. Have a listen if ye'r doing nothing else sure. https://soundcloud.com/teddyballet/b...nigel-original

FЖЖK! Decided to work from home this morning (plus landlady was coming round for rent). Got a call from my assistant that we won't have bonuses this New Year (fair enough, it was my suggestion as a remedy for the crapstorm), and that I have to work on a plan (for our new Director) to fire 30% of staff from our pub chain. Feel quite unmotivated as my salary is today worth 50% (euro value) from when I began my contract.

It's hitting home here, 1st recorded suicide of the crisis yesterday in Moscow with the head of a finance company seeing his company go in a single day. The banks yesterday were filled with people trying to change currencies, even buying Ukrainian hryvna. Going to be a cold winter.

    Heh..

There’s a quote in the NME today that says …

I wouldn’t quote anything from the NME. Because as you’ve seen, I ramble. And they just quote one sentence out of it. So I won’t know what the **** it means. So just ask what you want to ask.

That is mental. Reading it thinking he's angry is way funnier than I'd he's chatting.

For the record I always hated him and his band so I'll gladly take the 3* review opinion without caring about the record.

Funny how when an Irish lad proposes to an American girl so he can get American citizenship/an American passport/green card/legally remain in the country it's "romantic". "Robbed her off a friend". Says it all.

I know of a couple of Irish lads that have done this.
