"The charming story of cheerful Italian immigrants who build a completely legitimate olive oil importing business, and live long, happy lives pursuing the American dream."

    My god...I love the internet.

At the moment I am listening to my wife doing the vacuuming so I'll keep my head down.
Forget about the performance or entertainment. It's only the result that matters.

An awful lot of hair on show, and the saxophonist looks about as convincing as Leo from Fair City, but what a tune!

One of the most surreal things you'll ever hear. Chipmunks slowed down to a speed where the vocal sounds like a normal human voice, and it's bloody brilliant. It's like real slude/doom sort of stuff.

New Grimes album "Art Angels" is out of this world.

"Flesh Without Blood", "World Princess Part II" (Your move tay-tay), "Butterfly" and "Realiti" (Demo version is way better than album version) are wonderful.

But.., "Kill v Maim" has completely ruined music for me this year now.

I'm listening to a lot of Low at the moment. Going to see them in London in December with Crafty.

First play through of the new Kings of Leon album. On first listen, this is a really excellent album that I think can really grow on me further. They've taken another direction again and it feels much more of a late 70's - early 80's influence with some good rocky songs on it and a few synth based songs there too.

    Worth a listen.

Been listening to the James best of recently. Some great tracks, especially Laid and Sometimes. Sit Down is obviously their classic... I love this verse..

"Now I've swung back down again
It's worse than it was before
If I hadn't seen such riches
I could live with being poor"

Yet to check out the album, but would concur with Nigel above, was impressed with KoL's new direction on Jools a couple of weeks back.
New(ish) acts tickling the fancy at present include the rather brilliant Wolf Alice:

Wow. Ive been all over James' stuff for the last year or so - to the extent that he probably has a host of new Canadian fans! - after being a fan back in the 90s. And the verse you quoted is the one that resonates with me too - class songwriting. Laid is still my favourite song though.

That popped up on my radar last week in my Spotify Discover Weekly. Grreat tune. Stuck in my "must check out pile". Didn't know he was so young. Wow.

This song is still tearing it up for me. Dixon remix is the stuff of angels! Tunes like this make me realise just how unbelievably wonderful dance music can be.

Grace Slicks vocal only from the studio version, making the hair on my neck stand up all week. Takes 30 seconds or so before she cuts in. Kinda worth the wait this one though, IMO.
