    Paul Finnucane

Im not sure if anyone else heard this last friday at the Monaghan game but there was a rumour going around that Finnucane was leaving Limerick37 FC due to work commitments. Can anyone on here involved in the club either confirm or deny this rumour? If true is it temporary or not? Thanks

Yes it's true. Paul's job apparently requires him to go back to college on friday nights and saturdays, so he's decided to pack it in. I believe he's going to play next friday night because we're going to be badly stuck, but thats it then.

Personally, I feel that he's become a tad disillusioned with all the crap and is glad to be getting out.

A great servant to Limerick football over the years, and with the right attitude could have played across the water. He is possibly the best reader of the game I've seen play for Limerick since Ray O'Halloran when Ray was a young fella.

Good luck paul. Thanks for all your outstanding efforts. I wish you well.

Thanks PBW. I agree with you about Paul. Great player and one of my favourites in recent years. Best of Luck with your studies and future, Paul.

Shame to see him go, was always my favourite player and has been our best performer in a lot of the seasons that I've been going. I never thought the cpataincy should have been taken off him when Purcell came back, but it's just a minor complaint. Either way the two of them formed the best centreback partnership in this division. He'll be getting my vore for clubman of the year award come the end of the season as a small means of paying him back for his years of loyal service to Limerick football

If this friday is really his last game for L37 is there any chance the SC can organise some sort of tribute for Finnucane. Lets say a banner saying Thanks, goodluck etc... He deserves it like. Always the one player who stood out as having the most passion for Limerick senior soccer.

you sure about that? check our goals conceeded.

on paper they should have been the best but i dont think that its happened over the course of this season.

move chucka in, molan at left back. give danagher a few games at centre half as well.
    you gowl!

I think this could be a blessing in disguse. We were going no where with playing Molan in Centre Midfield and hopefully Finnys early retirement will force Ski to play Molan at left back with Barrett, Colbert, Harrington, Hayes all available to play in Centre Midfield.

Ya he played him striker for Rovers but for watching him the last few seasons my opinion is that his best position would be attacking centre midfield. He has played poorly every time he has played on the wings so...

Another genius remark, could you bother reading what I type next time? They haven't been the best this year, but they'd still be top 4, but they were the best in two of the last five seasons, explained enough or is it sock puppet time?
