    Paddy Shortt

Tried e mailing the club, but it keeps getting sent back to me, so I'll put this here instead. Cobh are planning a one minutes applause for this ex-Limerick, Cobh and Waterford player and I was wondering if we could do similiar at our game? He was part of the FAI Cup winning team from the 70s and is well remembered by some of the older fans that I talk to, some of whom still go up, so I think it would be a nice touch for Paddy, his family and those older fans to remember him in this way

My uncle who played for Limerick at the same time as Paddy was best friends with him. He spent a lot of time in my Nanas house and i've heard many good things about him over the years. RIP

    RIP - a true legend.

Hugely talented player. One of my early Limerick heroes. He was on the 1971Cup winning team also on the Celtic team that beat us in the 1969 semi final.

He joined Waterford in 1972 and won the league there, went back to Celtic in 1973 and won the league there in his first season. He was also capped at U23 and amateur level.

I had the pleasure of meeting him 6 months ago and he was a truly nice guy to boot.

If it was that much of a pleasure then why did you kick him?

On a serious note, I knew Paddy, and he would have appreciated that attempt at humour above. A great sportsman, and a true League of Ireland legend. RIP.
