Subscribded Threads

Lads, is there a way to turn off the function that automatically subscribes to the thread once you've posted on it? I had to use my college email address to open this account and i'm constantly being flooded by emails telling me the threads i've posted on have a new message (the recent one about Darron Gibson in particular, over 500 replies) and i'm getting an ear load from the college IT administrator as a result. I know its simple enough to delete the subscription once you've posted, but it would be easier if he function could be turned off. Is there anyway of doing this?

Control, Edit Options[left of screen] and select 'Do not subscribe'.
