I mean't to post this a while ago. An interview with Terry featured in the Irish Post on the lead up to his U21 appearance against Armenia.

No real hint of things not going too well. Hopefully its just idol gossip....
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

Good interview. just one thing that did surprise me was that he said that he left school at 13 to play football for Spurs. I had always assumed that the young lads in the academys in England had to continue their studies along with football training
    Its really not that complicated!!!

And yet he's still the best-educated player ever to graduate the Spurs academy.

No confirmation yet but it will happen. The list of retained players hasn't been produced yet but the West Ham website hints at several of the squad who played against Arsenal being released.

For those who have been following progress you'll remember how much the official site used to sing his praises but even after scoring one goal and creating the other he hardly gets a mention.

Dixon, Stephen O'Halloran and James Collins started in the West Ham v Aston Villa match tonight, all three played the 90 mins whilst david bevan and Eoin Wearan came off the bench in a one-nil victory for villa.

Is anyone aware as to if Terry is going to Colorado of MLS (on loan) or not?
    Thanks in advance.

You'd think if they wanted to do this that it would already have happened...what's the point in him playing reserve football if he could be getting first team experience?

Not sure MLS is a wise decision with Terry's knees given the amount of artificial turf in the league, but from a selfish perspective it would be nice to have an Irish player to follow over the summer outside of the LOI.

Actually, with Toronto FC installing grass in BMO Field and New York moving to Red Bull Arena, that leaves only New England and Seattle as the only teams (out of 16) still using Fieldturf, which itself is a big advance from the Plastic Pitches of the eighties. I saw one sports doctor say that it's no more likely to cause injuries, although some players still disagree

    Thanks for the info.

As for artificial turf and its ability to cause injuries, I've found that it's pretty hard on my knees/back, and I'm only in my early 20s...I'm sure there are differences between types of artificial surfaces as well.

The surface at Colorado's stadium (The Dick, no really it's "Dick's Sporting Goods Park") is grass. The artificial stuff used in the stadiums in the US these days is better than the old stuff but still not that great for players prone to knee injuries and older players.

That coupled with the amount of air travel to opposing teams in the hot summer would not be all that great for his knees.

    In any case:

Rapids coach Gary Smith rubbished recent reports from England and Ireland that West Ham striker Terry Dixon could be joining the Rapids on loan. Smith said he has never met the 20-year-old and believes the link has come through a mutual boxing friend who helps train Dixon.

I don't expect an apology but don't be so quick to rubbish peoples information in future otherwise they may not bother again.

Fair play your sources are obviously on the ball.

Wonder what lies ahead for him now?

Very bad news. Hopefully a Championship club will take him on and he will get some first team football and try to progress that way

Disappointing news for Terry after all the work he has been putting in to get fit again. Hopefully he will find another club where he can continue his comeback. At the U-21 game in Tallaght last month he didn't look fully fit but there were certainly flashes of his ability.
