Wexford Youths fail to pay their ESB Bill

According to Errortel, the match was abandoned due to a power failure. Wexford equalised Robbies 27th minute opener on 67 minutes. I'd imagine the power went after 75 mins so the result will probably stand.

ha i just put up a thread with the same thing....i shall remove it now

    wonder what will happen now??

Real Madrid a few years ago played something like the remaining 10mins of one of there matchs at a later date when a match was abandoned....surely they couldn't do that.

surely you could argue that 15 minutes is ample time to get a winner, and hence the result shouldn't stand

    this is the uefa rule

    4.1
Games will be played in accordance with Football Association Rules
    4.2
In addition, the following apply to league, cup and friendly matches:
    a).
    Abandoned Matches
Matches may be abandoned at the referees discretion in accordance with 4.1
After 75 minutes play the score of an abandoned match will stand.
When a match is abandoned before 75 minutes play, the points will be shared, the result being recorded as 0-0, except in a Cup match when there will be a replay

I presume these rules apply to the EL.

OF course it can't stand, if anything we should be awarded this game. They broke the FAI licence agreement by not having a backup generator. Bull**** if we don't at least get a replay!

They'd a whole back up club waiting; I assume a generator is a small matter to them.

Lads, a generator would not have done the job tonight as the electricity did not go. The lights did not even come on. The stewards were putting in the code to turn them on and they werent working. Was talking to "Ski" after the match and he said the ref said the match would have to be replayed.

So these muck savages can just start a game and keep going knowing full well their lights aren't going to work just long enough for the result to stand??

As Limerick people we tend to get on our high horses over people from other counties referring to our city as 'Stab City' or other things, and slagging us about knives and guns etc, so I don't think the muck savages reference is appropriate. Be nice...they're not from Cork after all...

As for the result standing, it isn't going to happen. The game will definitely be replayed.
