Well how are we fixed now ..... this could be very important in the play offs
This provisional ranking list (calculated separately from the FIFA rankings) will dictate which teams are seeded for both the play-off draw and the final tournament itself: http://www.world-results.net/uefa/ranking.html#2011
It still has to be updated to account for all results earlier, but I'd imagine it will be by the morning. At present, we wouldn't be seeded as there are six other second-placed teams ranked ahead of us. One of those will probably qualify automatically, however.
Edit: Funnily enough, that list was edited just as I was posting. We've moved down one place from 18th to 19th. Still six other second-placed teams ranked ahead of us.

We would have moved up to 28th with a win on Friday and a loss tonight. I am not sure where we are now, but 29-30 seems likely
Any one has the connection to your man page who works it out ...... i lost it .....again , thanks
We are up to 19th in UEFA rankings (out of 53 countries) ... not bad considering we were 25th in 2009
Just had a look there at the link...
6 Croatia* 33478
8 Portugal** 31910
9 Greece* 31825
10 Sweden 31126
12 Denmark** 30313
13 Serbia 29005
14 Czech Republic 28148
17 Turkey 27836
18 Switzerland 27595
19 Ireland 27268
20 Bosnia and Herzegovina 27118
...it doesn't require a huge leap of faith to say that these are the teams left to battle it out for the 2nd places.
Turkey only have to equal Belgiums result away to the Germans, at home and they're in. I think they'll do that.
Serbia, somehow thanks to the North going mad, should get group c. Unless Estonia win in Windsor (not impossible) and Serbia don't get a win from Italy or Slovenia (Estonia have the better on the head to head record).
Bosnia are sorted for D, they only need to beat Luxembourg.
Sweden should be ok for E, they need to beat Finland, then the Holland match becomes irrelevant as they've beaten Hungary on head to head.
Group G In my mind, will see the Swiss will roll the Montenegrins.
Which leaves the two groups that should decide who gets automatic qualifier. F & H.
F is a tight group. A toss-up between Greece and Croatia. They have to beat Croatia next game, or Croatia will top the group by beating Latvia in Split on the last day. I can see a draw game in Greece, and Greece finishing with a win against Georgia. This would see them having 16 points on the table.
Group H is the Portugal/Denmark/Norway group. I'd feel Denmark should have enough over Cyprus, but I can't see Portugal not getting what they need in Copenhagen. The head to heads mean that Norway need to hope Denmark don't beat either Cyprus or Portugal.
As a result of that I can see the second placed teams being:
Turkey
Ireland
Serbia
Bosnia
Sweden
Croatia (auto)
Switzerland
Denmark
Czech rep
Which, as DI's link shows, seedings-wise at present is:
10 Sweden 31126
12 Denmark 30313
13 Serbia 29005
14 Czech Republic 28148
17 Turkey 27836
18 Switzerland 27595
19 Ireland 27268
20 Bosnia and Herzegovina 27118
In predicting how the groups or results will turn out, you can try and see if the seedings will be affected. I find it hard to believe Switzerland will drop below us as they're going to have to win their next two games to get 2nd place anyway.
Turkey could very well drop points, and I've no doubt the Czech's will drip points also, perhaps against Lithuania also. I'm not really sure the seedings are going to make much of a difference this time round. I wouldn't be afraid of any team, but I'd be wary of Serbia, only because we seem to struggle against the strong Balkan teams in the recent past.
I'm well aware this could be all totally irrelevant if Slovakia do us a favour and we capitalise on the favour.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
If we get to the play-offs, that's where we meet Sweden.
I don't see where all the confidence is coming from in claiming Greece will top their group. Croatia should top that group. Anyone want to give me 2/1 against Croatia topping their group?

Up to 29th, Armenia have also shot up
These rankings baffle me sometimes, there is no way Bosnia, Hungary or Montenegro could be considered better teams than us and equally there is no way we could be considered a better team than Ghana.
If we win on Tuesday (hard to see especially as we only need a draw) - we move up to 25/26th in the rankings i think

Bosnia are actually going into their last game with a chance of topping their group, in the WC 2010 qualifying they like us made the playoffs and unlike us finished 2nd in their group behind the eventual World Cup Champions (Spain) knocking out quality teams in Turkey and Belgium. While we finished behind a round 1 fodder exit team (Italy) and knocked out over-seeded Bulgaria who are laungishing bottom of their Euro group at present. In the playoffs they only lost to Portugal, a team who made the knockout stages again only losing to Spain. With us, again we lost to a round 1 fodder team (France).
Bosnia are quite good and a hell of a lot better than us. Pray we don't meet them in the playoffs or you'll find out just how right I am.
They're definitely better and more creative than us. But no-one is a 'hell of a lot', simply because we're now capable of often grinding out results others can't.
Except v.the very top sides...who would deservedly hump us and Trap's lack of ambition.

I think we could take Estonia!
So who do you want in the play offs? Croatia, Portugal, Denmark or Sweden? If all that stands between us and a place at the Euros is Bosnia, I'd bite your hand off for it. They have been hockeyed by an extremely limited Romania team, drawn with Albania and beaten comfortably at home by France. I'm not saying it would be easy but we certainly have enough to see them off.
You can light a candle at mass to hope we avoid Bosnia, but I on the other hand would prefer us steer clear of Croatia, Sweden and Denmark.
Bosnia are an excellent team with some excellent players but i think the general point to make here is that any country that our limited team of limited ambition is likely to face in playoffs will pose a huge challenge and i think we would be underdogs in all scenarios. That said i think we are nailed on for a couple of "gallant" draws and an "unlucky" defeat on away goals or some such rubbish. The benefit being that i will have been bored into not overly caring when we fail to qualify.
But lets get past Armenia first.
Does anyone know what the total number of games is at the moment for the cycle calculation on the uefa Coefficient Ranking System?? Do they publish the finer data details anywhere??

They certainly aren't the worst we could get, its the notion that we're a superior side to them or that they'd be an "easy draw" is what I object to. I'd take all of Estonia/Serbia/Montenegro/Scotland/Czech over them. I'd consider Croatia/Denmark/Sweden/Belgium as well, I'd certainly rate Bosnia in that company. Theres a few past their peak teams in the mix here in Czech Rep, Croatia and Sweden. Its the young, hungry and vastly underrated sides in Bosnia and Belgium that'd really concern me. Pjanic and Hazard could very well be two of the worlds best players in years to come, I really don't want to see them in the Aviva.
All games from 2008 (Q and finals), 2010 (Q and finals) and 2012 (Q) are included. So different teams have played different amount of games. It's done on averages and weighting.
Edit - Replying to loscherland.
