Irish players in PFA Teams of the Year

    League One: http://www.givemefootball.com/displa...e=10273&type=1
    Joe Murphy - S****horpe
The former Republic of Ireland Under 21 international has enjoyed a fine campaign for recently-promoted S****horpe this term. Murphy and his teammates boast the best defensive record in League One where the 25-year-old's impressive displays have made him a firm favourite at Glanford Park.

    Wesley Hoolahan - Blackpool
He has been one of the finds of the season after joining the Seasiders from Scottish club Livingstone in a season-long loan deal in the summer. The left-sided midfielder's wing wizardry, as well as an ability to score goals, has seen him establish himself as a popular figure at Bloomfield Road and manager Simon Grayson will no doubt be doing all he can to persuade Hoolahan to make his move a permanent one.

    Lee Frecklington - Lincoln
Having begun his footballing education at Norwich City's Academy, Lee went on to Lincoln's Centre of Excellence before making his league debut for the Imps, under former manager Keith Alexander, in the 2004-2005 season. A Republic of Ireland B international, Lee has been a mainstay in the City midfield this season, attracting interest from above.

No Irish players in the Championship or Premiership teams.

If Given was playing for one of the top 4, he would be in there. No much hope for any of the rest but Doyle (Birmingham) was probably unlucky not to feature in the Championship side.

Given did not play long enough this season, the same with Czech and Doyle. The votes are handed in in January so Doyle was never going to get in for Birmingham. He had barely played at that stage.

Hoolahan is being targeted by Sheffield Wednesday I'm told, that all depends on whether the Owls get promoted or not I reckon.

Speaking of Wednesday I was surprised not to see Northern Irish international Chris Brunt in the Championship team of the season

again though Finnan has played his best football recently, probably since about xmas and the votes were handed in months ago.

It's really not a fair reflection on the whole season, shows with Van der Sar, Rio and Neville

What do we have? 5 or 6 Championship goalies and n'er a sign of one of them. And what about Connolly, touted by many here as worth an international place, and no sign of him either in the Championship side.
