You'd have thought he'd have been told to avoid a booking.
We should still beat Linfield from what I've seen.
Cork suspension mars advance to semi-final
Cork City may have got their job done tonight by advancing to the semi-finals of the Setanta Sports Cup but manager Damien Richardson showed a bizarre lack of judgement as he introduced Roy O'Donovan for the last thirty minutes of the game, despite leading 2-0 at the time in a fixture they merely needed to avoid losing by seven goals. O'Donovan, joint top scorer in the competition, went into the game walking the suspension tight-rope having been booked in Cork's away loss to St. Pats. The striker was duly booked on 78 minutes and now misses the semi-final.
Any thoughts of a nervous night at the Cross were banished within four minutes when Colin O'Brien headed City in front from Ray Lally's pin-point corner kick from the left side. Dungannon didn't cover themselves in glory in the build-up to the goal and City won the corner kick after a mix-up between Gary Fitzpatrick and goalkeeper David Wells while the marking from the flag kick was almost non-existent.

City definetly have the best bands playing at half-time.

at least he deosnt have to worry about the tight rope in a semi final, and will be rearing to go in the final
Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.
No, his yellow would have been wiped clean.
Dirty tackle actually.
Deserving of a yellow, but given the game the ref was having a red wouldn't have surprised me.

Poor decision by Rico but its bad when can't play your forward because he might get booked for kicking someone. Only stupid forwards get booked.
I bet O'Donovan regrets his booking for cheating at Pat's.Might teach him a lesson not to feign injury.
Monday night wasn't a yellow for Roy, the ref got it wrong. Obviously he knew he couldn't do anything as he needed to avoid get a yellow, but the ref was giving out cards all over the place, the red he gave to the keeper was madness. Bottom line, it was the refs fault Roy cant play, not Roy's. That ref just isn't up to the standard ..... of schoolboy football.

Some of the posters on the cork site have said he was lucky it wasn't red. His studs were up etc...
