Ground first broke in 2005 as far as I can remember, there were so many delays with funding etc. Small bits done here and there but I'm delighted to finally see the skelton of the stadium finally starting to take shape. The original was plan was to have the project completed(6,500 all seater) before we moved in, but I think it may be a staged process now with the main stand complete(1,500-2000 seats including offices, changing rooms etc) and 2nd stand(oppsite side of pitch) well under construction, then ends built after this.

Not heard much about the pre0fabricated stadia , but they sound a bit soulless to me

From what I understand, we're to move into the ground as two stands completed. Ends to be filled in as two extra phases of development.

Sod turned on the ground May 2008. Plans were announced before that.

I believe it's to be 6,700 seats. Original plans show both sides of the ground having 1,954 seats..whether intentional or not remains to be seen.

Athlone has a phased development but yet to start part two. Even if Harps play in a 1,500-2,000 seater ground that would do for a while. possibly till yee get promoted again which bar a good start to this year otherwise looks a few years away.

As a matter of interest, do you have any idea how long it took to grow pitch to LOI playing standard at Lissywollen?

Harps new stadium will be completed to two sides before the club moves in, main stand hoped to be complete by Autumn.

Also, club turned a minimal profit in 2013 of just over €1,000, largely thanks to the add on fee for Stephen McLaughlin from his move to Nottingham Forest.

Peter Hutton, despite his barking about a lack of ambition at Harps had a much bigger budget and backing from the board than he sprouted to the press.

Are you sure you actually received the money, and weren't just counting it on the off chance?

What has been said, is that the money was received early in the season last year.

Away section and Disabled facilites were mentioned in tonights match programme. While it discussed more the funding initiative for these developments at least they are on the minds of the board members as necessary covered areas as opposed to, in particular, the low priority of doing something with the away section previous

Passed the market fields there on Saturday.
Didn't look like anything was going on recently at all from what I could see.
    What the latest?

Basically the pitch was laid and the area around the pitch cleared. Not a tap done since.

Planning has gone in for re-development works at Turner's Cross to take place at end of season, including installation of toilets in St Anne's End.. it is badly needed as away fans currently using portaloos!

Great to hear. Not the most pleasant sight seeing a group of men ****ing into one of those portable urinal things nailed onto the back of the stand as soon as you walk into the ground.

Latest picture of the work ongoing at new Finn Park. Took it from out on the road when passing today on my phone, hence the poor quality.

Impressive. Already has a better playing surface than Oriel Park.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!
