I dont want any home leg moved from oriel. It's worth more to us to get to the next round than moving the game. If we moved a potential Celtic game to lansdowne it would just send the wrong message regarding on field success.

If they did a deal where they made all money of corporate and premium tickets and we got normal tickets both sides could be happy

Would it be an option to invest in oriel and put down a foundation (concrete slab) behind the other goal (I'm looking on Google maps) and rent two stand (one behind each goal).

Surely renting two stands would be much cheaper per stand than renting one - assuming you use 1 company for both stands, as the same crew would put up both. What could the capacity be with two temp stands? @ €25/30 a ticket, it would be a great night for the club

Home advantage is a must, no matter who the other team is. Songs are sang about winning games like this.

A concrete foundation could work out cheap enough if fans volunteered. Hire 1 or 2 professionals and ten full time volunteers or 20 part time volunteers etc.

Of course, when you say field, you mean rubber mat.

Now that Limerick have moved into the Marlkets Field and to be fair the place looks great, will work continue on the upgrade?

Will there be a cover on the away fans stand behind the goals?
Will terracing be added on opposite side to Main Stand?
Is terracing being added to other goal end?

Sorry do'nt know the local names for the ground ends, maybe someone in the know might be able to update us on the latest work schedule or plans.

Hope it does'nt all cease now that team are installed and the work gets postponed until later in the year.

The away stand is covered - that's the Markets Field Terrace end. The other goal end is the Cathedral/City end. Opposite the main stand (Garryowen side) is the popular side. I'm not too sure on what future plans are but something really should be done on the popular side!

It would really be popular again if they put in a bit of terracing!

I hate that carry on, typical and all that. Great plans for the Markets Field, initial work begins generating great anticipation amongst the wider Limerick soccer public. Eventually the team play a game there and the future looks brighter and what happens...................further work is put on hold, why not complete all the planned phases of the work and bring the ground up to its proposed final status and build on IT from there.

Has the funding stopped or what?

The LEDP said before the Markets Field opened that they weren't going to put terracing on that side as they saw no need for it. Its not that work or money has stopped. Once the finishing touches are made there will be no more work done for the foreseeable future. So basically as far as the LEDP are concerned it has been brought up to its completed status. At least until further money comes down the line or the actual need for it arises.

Watching highlights of a Bray home game recently on SR, I noticed that the Town End grass embankment of the ground had been levelled and cleared. Any Bray fans know what is happening as far as any planned developments, maybe new terracing?

Bohemians members overwhelmingly agree to the sale of Dalymount to DCC for €3.8m and clear almost all of our major debts. Still a lot of details to be worked out but it looks like a 10k seater stadium by 2020, pitchside advertising revenue and leaseback of the bars are all secured as part of it. Absolutely fantastic news for us!

Good news for Bohs and the league in general, hopefully it will give a push to the FAI to get a few more grounds upgraded. Is 10k a bit big for bohs? What are crowds like at the moment?

Where's the 3.8 million going to come from for DCC to purchase the ground? Where is the other 7 figure sum going to come from to re-develop the ground?

Sounds to good to be true.
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians

No! As it is Dalymount is a large open ground with areas that are closed off. The atmosphere will improve as the ground gets closed in even if attendances stay the same. The advantage of having another 10k stadium in Dublin is that it removes the issue of Tallaght or Dalymount being used if either Bohs or Rovers are in a final and either ground can be used to do away with 'home' advantage. If they are playing each other move it to Turners Cross If games have to be moved for European football I'd much rather it moved to Dalymount than Tallaght as much for convenience as a dislike of Tallaght Stadium.

New tunnel in Galway plus all weather area replaces grass in the technical areas. . New dressing rooms in Comer Stand opened last month. Both ends of this stand will be enclosed with glass before later this year which will restrict the breeze and further enhance the atmosphere for spectators.

Brilliant news about the main stand I wish we'd do that in longford it's a cold fecker of a stand to sit in.

Whatever about tunnel and technical area, it's great to hear they're doing something about the breeze through the stand there, it's a cold b@stard of a place to watch a match. Really progressive stuff in Galway.
