You'd imagine it should be very hard for the government to throw good money after bad with that harps stadium.

We're talkin about another few million for a little village in the armpit of Ireland when the first few million was ****ed up against a (barely standing) wall.

harps should be considering relocating to Letterkenny or something would be a lot more justifiable then.

Having said that this is magic paddyland and the provos have been making hay in Donegal so will prob be a case of free money for all.

Leaving Ballybofey now for Letterkenny would be ridiculuous. The new stadium has already started being built and the rest of the funding has been granted, albeit there have been problems drawing down the installments.

It might have been an option about 10 yrs ago when they were deciding to move to a new ground, but they chose the new site in Ballybofey so they should stick with it now.

Maybe we should adopt the Limerick model of moving every couple of years.

As of September there was very, very, little done. And you'd wonder about the integrity of what was done. It's basically a lump of concrete that's been left to rot in all weather's.

    Worth considering.

Donegal is a big, impoverished, place. Might be an idea to build the club around the county??

Put the pitch in Ballybofey (where the team is), the seats in Letterkenny (where the people are), the offices in the Gaeltacht (where the funding is), the club shop in Bundoran (where the surfers are), and the tea bar in Buncrana (where people love a stroll and a nice bit of ice cream).

    It might just work.

Galway United were officially granted a bar license yesterday. The bar will be located in the old clubhouse/dressing room which hasn't been used since the dressing rooms moved to the new Comer Stand. The bar will only open on match days.

Brilliant news for Galway Utd! Having a bar in the ground is a fantastic advantage for any club. I absolutely love going into the bars in Dalymount. Guarantees a better atmosphere in the stands too.

And as a bonus it will probably act as a nice little money maker too

Maybe people wouldn't be left with questions like this if plans the club have were kept that way until everything was sorted.

Really like how Galway are going about their business at the moment. Posters at all the local clubs, busses to home games from rural areas and planning for a bar. Hope it's a massive success, might encourage clubs like Longford to do similar.

Latest photos of the new pitch in Dundalk, I think it was taken on Friday. The squad will have their first session on it from Wednesday, decent of the FAI to offer full facilities today and tomorrow to the squad while the final bits are checked.

What is up with that darker patch? Looks better in general than the old one, look forward to seeing how it plays.

Sand and organic filling is being added, then the pitch is being brushed.

The darker sections were brushed just before the picture.

It sort of looks like they ran out of turf and decided to throw back down some of the old one.

From those pictures, the YDC building makes it look like the shed side has a near pitch length stand, that would be impressive
