Finnan starts today at RB for Portsmouth vs. Burnley. Wilson also in the starting team for Portsmouth at CB.

A month too late for Finnan unfortunately. McShane was miles out of his depth in Paris I thought.

Finnan expects to leave Portsmouth in the close season: http://www.football365.com/story/0,1...157620,00.html
Can see one of the promoted teams, or someone like Wigan snapping him up
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Havent seen a huge amount of Finnan this season, but think he was over run a few times against Chelsea. Now I know the whole Pompey team were but still.................in any case I would have him there in place of PMcS any day.

Any word on where Finnan is likely to end up playing this season? There are only three weeks left until the start of the Premiership season. I can see him getting picked up on a pay-per-play type deal.

a FA Cup winners medal and Champions League winners medal is success that thousands of players would gladly accept.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

It's not worth nothing without an EA Sports Cup medal to top it all off.

Still no word on Finnan? I'd love to see him hook up with a Championship club. Portsmouth even. He needs to play, he's 34 and not getting any younger.

Finnan is a free agent so thankfully he's not restricted by the close of the transfer window tomorrow. In fact, once the window is closed some clubs might take a closer look at him as they won't have a lot of other options available. If I recall correctly Carr joined Birmingham in February 2009 having been unattached since the previous summer. Hopefully Finnan won't be waiting that long for some interest.

Any word on Finnan? I still think he is our best option at RB if fit.

And Kevin Moran and Paul McGrath are still our best options for center half if fit

Saw Finnan play the other week at Carraghers testamonial, was up against a fairly strong Everton team, Yakubu, Arteta, Osman etc and didnt look out of place at all. In fact had a good game. Am very surprised that no one has signed him up yet. Would have thought he would get in to the majority of Championship teams Norwich, Cardiff, Ipswich, Bristol City etc.

Roy keane could probably do with another Irishman to abuse after Jon Walters going to Stoke !
