Did you ever notice that in every painting of Adam & Eve, they have belly buttons. Think about that...take as long as you want.

I just discovered that Des Bishop is a Cork City fan. I was at his show in Sligo in November and he called Rovers "the fattest champions ever" and congratulated them on winning their "little league". You had to be there to find it really funny.

Just think he like any sports team with Cork in the name, he spent several years at college there and I think Cork is where his ancestors were from.

He told that Sligo Rovers fat Joke in Letterkenny too, Harps also got a mention, he said he was sad to see them go down but said they would be right back up next year, then back down and back up, just like a yo yo.

I went to see Dara O'Briain in Vicar Street before Christmas, was'nt that impressed, all he did was slag a couple of people in the audience off for most the show. I found it fairly lame because at the end of the day anybody can slag someone and sound funny.
Seen a guy called David O'Doherty before Christmas and thought he was brilliant, does a few songs in a Bill Bailey kind of way.
The opinions expressed above are not those of my family, my church or myself,
but they are the opinions of Humphrey Bogart as revealed to me through the medium of my pet hamster, Dr.Samuel L. Jackson

I'd better limit it to standup, or I'll be here all day. My favourites are Bill Bailey, Dylan Moran (yes, rather like Black Books!) and Jack Dee.

A couple of guys I've noticed recently would be Rhys Darby and Marcus Brigstocke. Both of them are on Comedy Central on Paramount.

Seriously though ( in a comic way ), there would be too many to mention, but someone mentioned Jasper Carrott earlier and I can remember some very funny showings from him, then there was also Kenny Everett who was also very funny.

Anyone know of John Colleary? He's from Sligo and is regular MC at the comedy nights in the Sligo art gallery. I think he's fairly well known around the Dublin comedy club scene too. He did the Kilkenny festival thing last year and appeared on an episode of Naked Camera on RTE. If ye know him, what do ye think of him?

I went to see Vine in Sligo a few months back. He is good but I find that cos all his jokes are basically one liners, it goes too quick. I like an aul long joke every now and again .

I went to see Karl Spain in Sligo tonight. Top class. I printed out this old pic of him(he's the mascot) and handed it to him.
