    UEFA Women's Euro 2025

    England
    France
    Sweden
    Ireland

Yet another horror draw for an Irish team, our run of bad luck is not limited just to our men's teams it seems.

Unfortunately looks like we'll be getting relegated back to League B for the next Nations League.

Are these draw's even done randomly anymore? I fail to believe it's even possible to have this level of bad luck...

Lets not forget the U17s managed to get Germany,Portugla & Croatia in their QUALIFYING group...

The Under 21s got Italy, Norway and Turkey despite being second seeds. The women got Nigeria, olympic champions Canada and hosts Australia at the world cup.

    It's just relentless.

And if we look further back the last 2 Euro's we qualified for we were drawn into what was considered the "group of death" on both occasions....

On the positive side we're guaranteed a playoff spot. So this is gonna be six competitive games against three of the best teams in the world. That's a good learning experience for the younger and newer players in the squad. All the games should be in the Aviva too so they'll have a big crowd behind them.

Come the playoff we'll likely draw someone around our level or lower.

Come on, were Ireland we dont get teams our level...another top nation will likely bomb in their qualifying group and find themselves in the play off only for us to draw them....the usual stuff.

Would wager the England game will be in Aviva and the others in Tallaght.

The result last night is secondary to the terrible news that Colin Healy's wife passed away

Disappointed not to score against England last night, had at least two clear cut chances to get something from the game.
England were the far better side in the first half, and fully deserved their lead. Ireland got forward a bit more in the second half, in particular the last 15 minutes, but just didn't have someone who can finish.
The performances from the two games do give me hope we can at least be competitive against Sweden in the two games in a little over six weeks, and I think they need to be approached as a relegation play off.
