It should be noted the article contains the allegation and then the club denying it.

Which they probably would do in fairness.

Though making up an allegation so the club can give it credence by denying it sounds like a typically Sun thing to do

Lee Carsley will be England's Interim Manager for next month's Nations League games - The FA don't seem in any hurry making a permanent appointment:

Oh dear. The humblings keep coming. Nevertheless, I encourage England to keep their morale high.

Carsely would be the Irish manager if they were willing to pay him. While I'm not against Halgrimsson's appointment, it seems he was most likely the cheapest option

Maybe so, and he would have been a good choice, but managing the England men's senior team feels like a step too far... on top of Rice and Grealish in recent years. It's probably karma for all our poaching of dual eligbles over the years, but we did it out of decency and necessity whereas they do it out of pure greed

Think he'll get the full nations league for the FA to judge whether they might keep him on for the WC qualifiers.

Don't see Howe or Potter in a new jobs soon. Think they'll want to see what another FA guy can do with the team. If they are really open to the next manager not being English but having good knowledge of the English game might be worth their while leaving Carsley in charge for a few months and keep tabs on certain managers.

It appears Pochettino is punting his CV round for the England job. Doubt his nationality would itself have any bearing in England, but having been to Argentina recently, it appeared that at least some people, incl many politicians, are obsessed with Las Malvinas over there.

I remember Carlos Tevez was so embittered that he refused to speak English, or buy into British culture, during his time in the UK, even demanding that his teammates speak to him in Spanish only:

We're going to archive this thread for now as it's run its course. Hopefully it won't be needed again for a good while!
