Johnny Lyons of 98FM passed away today. Really shocked by this as I'd a few good laughs with the man and really enjoyed a few long evening discussions. Very sad to hear this.

Ralph Milne, Dundee Utd and Man Utd, aged 54. A talented winger in the 'what might have been' category.

He also spent a very brief period with Derry City during 1993/94 season:

Yogi Berra turned 90 yesterday and promptly passed away. Back in 2005 there was a special on TSN about his life and he was a truly remarkable guy.

He seemed like the kind of guy it'd be fun to have a drink with. And his saying, "It ain't over til it's over" is pretty common.

Thanks. Hadn't heard that. Saw him play for the Hoops many years ago.

Just heard he died, although he died last month. Former Yorkshire and England cricket all rounder, Brian Close. They don't make them like him any more as he faced up to West Indies fast bowlers without wearing a helmet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60GAhXvU90k

Former British Labour politician, Denis Healy. My barber often says to me "will I do the old Denis Healy's?" meaning "will I cut your eyebrows"

Writer Henning Mankell - disappointed that there won't be any more books from this great author.

. 2nd writer in a week!! And in fact Denis Healey was a pretty good author too!

Unfortunate name under the circumstances - disproves nominative determinism as a theory anyway.

There was a solicitors' firm in Sligo called Argue and Phibbs...

Meanwhile, it's being reported that 80s singer-songwriter Jim Diamond has died, aged 64.
