I agree about the admin nightmare, but how about a playoff betwen the AUL Prem winners (if their facilities are up to scratch) and the bottom team in the MSL 2nd Div every year? Would add a bit of spice to the 2nd Div after xmas i'd say
There should be no comfort zones for the bad teams.

The deal is common knowledge but that doesn't make it right. The AUL want to keep their best teams, but what if the best teams no longer want to stay with the AUL, was this taken into consideration? The 5 year ban on teams moving is anti-competitive. Its easier to get out of a marriage than the AUL, HAHA!

The MSL insist that clubs applying have the right facilities. But what are the exact criteria - Leeside and Coachford have dressing rooms and showers that are better than a lot of MSL clubs (Glasheen, Castleview, Temple, Mallow, Passage come to mind). I hope you didn't think that I was suggesting we allow teams with no dressing rooms to enter.

Keeping the divisions to a certain number is important but the MSL Senior 2nd Div has only 9 teams (Prem and 1st Divs have 10) so there is an opening there for expansion. Also, 2nd div teams don't get long runs in the Intermediate and Munster Senior Cups so there is room to play more league games in this division.

Also, my original point was that the standard of some 2nd div teams is very poor (CIT in particular) and these teams should be made to fight for their places in the MSL. They should not be able to retain their places by just getting 11 bodies on the pitch at the weekend when there are better clubs and players who deserve a shot.

I understand your points ballsac, but the issue seems to be more to do with committees, delegates and administration rather than what it should be - football standards.

The AUL are afraid to lose their better teams to the MSL. But this has always been the case. Most of the MSL Prem teams were once AUL teams including Rockmount, Avondale and St. Marys. Am I wrong?
    Good banter tho' ballsac

What is wrong with the dressing rooms/showers at Mallow or Castleview??. They have solid structures in place, specifically for the use as changing rooms & showers!

No offence meant, twotouch. They are 100% suitable for purpose. But not as good as Leeside, Coachford and Park Utd.

There is a feeling out there that all AUL teams tog off in their cars when the reality is that SOME AUL clubs have better facilities than SOME in the MSL.

The MSL seem to expect better facilities from those applying to enter than they impose on clubs already in the league

This started off with a rant agaist CIT being a 'senior club' and might be getting a bit heated/ off the point...

I think it's fair to say that it has wandered a little from the main point alright

Sounds like a good idea - good luck in trying to get the powers that be to run with it though.

Hall 4 (Deccie O'Connell 2, Strachan, David Moore) Castleview 1.

Hall in control early, took the lead through Deccie. Castleview fought back to equalise. 2 Hall goals from Deccie and Strachan in quick succession ended the game as a contest. Mooresy finished the scoring midway through the second half.

Mount beat Carrigaline 2-0 today, Brian McCarthy and Beech. Slatts back for 60mins of it. Good days work all round.
The above is all opinion and based on personal experience. Unless stated otherwise it is not a dig at anybody, well probably none of you lot.

Hall in command for first half, looking more likely. Didn't get the goal(s) they deserved and then, guess what!!
Marys took the lead early in the second half. Held on comfortably. Scored the second on a breakaway with 5 to go.

    Oscar Traynor

In the oscar traynor cup MSL against the east cork west waterford side it finished 3 nil to msl. ECWW could only field ten players. How embarrasing. A whole region and only ten players.

I'm not at all familiar with this Everton lad but I believe he got player of the tournament at the Michael Ward Tournament.

    Any comments?

Delighted for Don, he's a nice fella and probably Evertons most consistent player.........strange though that Rockmount who won the Intermediate cup or the Hall who came runner up don't have a nominee! usually the award is decided on players performances throughout the intermediate cup. Hope Don wins it but probably wouldnt be an accurate reflection on the MSL, I dont think he would have been in most peoples top 5 on last season (no malice intended)
