You don't want to be opening and closing those stadium roofs too often. Sometimes they get stuck halfway and then you are really goosed.

The ref deemed the pitch unplayable before the game of course. Could Harps have looked at any news outlets beforehand, took into consideration the amount of rain expected, their awful pitch and the length of travel for the opposition and saved the officials the hassle of making a call that everyone knew was going to happen?

I really like Cabos approach of taking the entire ground away, like one of those pitches that can be wheeled out in some stadiums.

You understand that clubs can't unilaterally call a fixture off, right? If it passed an inspection at 3, at that point harps have no control over it. They cannot choose to call off the game. Only the FAI can do that.

Fair enough I hold my hands up. I didn't know that and apologies. Unfortunate that it was called off.

We should all start calling off games because Met Eireann says it's going to rain a bit.

I'm sure Drogheda fans will recover from their 7 day long trek to reach the farthest corners of the country.

So will Harps be able to keep most of their squad together or are they at risk of losing many? Imagine McCourt will be out the door anyway.

Can't imagine us holding on to much of the squad. There's already plenty of rumours up here about who is gone and who isn't. We'll likely go out with a lot of young players next season.

Not sure about McCourt either. He may have options, but won't want to go too far from home either. There were plenty of rumours of a move to Sligo, but he'll certainly not travel up and down there for training, whatever about matches.

what is the bus no if you are going from city centre? made mistake of getting on 145 bus to Bray and getting off at Leopardstown junction. didnt realise its a good 40 min walk down to ground! handy for next year.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

One defeat in 11 since we last played Derry. At that stage if you told me that we could go to Drogheda last game knowing a point would make us safe Id have bitten your hand off.
the turning point for Sligo was that superb win over Cork City in turners cross. it wasnt too long after we knocked ye out of the FAI cup. Its some turnaround for ye. I thought ye were as good as down that night in CCS. massive congrats to ye. Ye have showed some battle and grit.

Maybe not but in 2015 I would have done the same, Faherty looked overweight and uninterested as he scored 2 goals (both against Galway) in 21 games for Limerick. He then scored 9 from the next 9 including another 2 against Galway. It just looked like an accident waiting to happen.

Harps 1-3 Drogheda now. Was Harps 1-0 Drogheda at HT.

On a completely unrelated note, Harps half, Drogs full was 40/1.

Thanks but a bit early for the congrats just yet. Have to get something from the game in Drogheda and certainly can't take anything for granted.
