Closest we came in recent times was when we were supposed to play sheriff or another Dublin junior club In the semi-final after they beat Shels but when they were kicked out and Shels re-instated we lost to Shels and they went on to play Sligo in the final.

So Portmarnock away in Paddy's Hill, looks about the same as Malahide United's ground we played at a few years back... Just a pitch... Anyone been at a Portmarnock AFC game?

its the first time since 1969 that we have met Sligo Rovers in the FAI Cup. that year we knocked them out in the greyhound track(2-0 from memory I think). We never meet Sligo much anymore except for the league. We played Sligo in the league cup in 2005 away and beat them 2-0 is the last time we met them in any cup competition!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Dundalk-Derry City scheduled for Sunday 13th at 18:30.
Quite a TV-friendly time. Also means we'll play Dundalk two Sundays in a row.

Hopefully it's on live. I'll be in Gran Canaria so would be nice to watch it in a nice Irish pub while soaking up the afternoon sun 😁

Very odd time for a match, 6.30 on a Sunday, I see that's now on the fixture list part of dundalkfc.com. Dundalk play home to Limerick on the previous Friday then away to Galway in EA Cup semi on the previous Monday, still seems a very long lead time to Sunday.

Maybe there are plans to show it live but not yet announced.

There is a fuction in Lillywhite on the Friday Night for PAYPAL, so id imagine they are giving the club a few pound and it made sense to play the Sunday

    All hail PAYPAL!

Please tell me that you are not suggesting that some bar function would take precedence over the scheduling of the cup game.

It would be unprofessional and commercially shortsighted to take a booking for an event at your club, and then cancel it at relatively short notice.

Surely the core issue here isn't whether or not Paypal should be cancelled. It's what were Dundalk doing taking a Friday night booking on an FAI Cup weekend in the first place. They obviously either gambled on an away fixture, or planned to use another day all along if they were at home. Either way Paypal aren't at fault, so the agreement with them should be honoured.

Wouldn't have minded seeing the Harps game moved to Saturday just to see effect it may have on attendence...but too be far it probably wouldn't alter it too much

I would have been tempted myself on a Saturday, no chance of going up Friday night.

Are Shels fans still boycotting their games or are any likely to travel to Waterford on Friday?

So in case of a draw there is extra time and then penalties?
