The Turners Cross pitch looked very soft during the presidents cup game a couple of weeks ago. Parts of it cut up quite badly. Summer football eh.

It's a pretty horrible pitch after a decent spell of a rain now.

I've never dreaded heading out to Tallaght as much as I am tonight.

So we can expect the official attendance figure to be 1574 for this game, but we all know there will possibly be 2,500+ in attendance!

Glad it's an earlier kick off too, will be able to have a couple of pints in town after they eventually let us out now.

No BBC Foyle commentary tonight because of the election but you'll get coverage on Drive FM

Be unfortunate if some games called off that are expecting big crowds. You want to build off the decent start to the season in terms of media exposure & having big games, keeps the momentum going.

I know it's a bit early but can any Sligo folk offer an opinion if the weather might affect tomorrow's game?

I've seen heavier rain down here and games going ahead. Unless it's torrential tomorrow I'd be optimistic it will go ahead. That's about all I'd be optimistic about regarding this game tbh.

Turners cross was deemed unplayable by a local MLS ref at 13.00. Cork city are disputing the ref's decision & have called for a 2nd opinion so hence the 4pm inspection. Its is a joke if game is called off at 4pm because fans will have left Galway before 4pm.

A decision should have been made at 1pm as either the pitch is playable or its not end of story.

The fans don't even come into the decision. We're taken for granted.

That being said, it is understandable that Cork want the game to go ahead.
