    Mayo League 2017

With the divisions and the fixtures out with the league starting March 12th, how do people see the different divisions going. With the Connacht cup and shield on the last couple of weeks the preseason matches would have been more competitive. How do people see how the different divisions going. Its disappointing to see Charlestown bowing out although it was well known from last season.

Super League - Hard to see past the regular contenders in Westport and Ballina, be interesting how S&F and Achill do.

Premier - It will be another very competitive again this season, with Conn Rangers and Erris coming down and Ballyhaunis and Crossmolina coming up. Will Bangor Hibs mount another series bid after being so close last year. 5 great NI. Mayo derbies, one the Erris/Bangor Hibs and then the Conn Rangers/Crossmolina/Killala

League 1 - Ballina will hardly make the same administrative mistakes as last year, Partry and Mulranny

League 2 - its good to see Kilmore back, will they have the players who joined BH and Erris last season back. Will Holister be more competitive

Super League - As you say it's between Ballina and Westport. S&F should be fine, they're a decent team and will be no walkover for anyone. Achill will be going straight back to the Premier, still not sure how they managed promotion last season.

Premier - Erris and Conn favourites but keep an eye on Swinford, they have a few new players and should have a good run at the league.

League 1 - Partry definitely to get promoted. It shows how mad the Premier was last season when Partry were relegated and Achill promoted when Partry are a much better team imo.

League 2 - Would like to see Moy Villa go up. One things for sure it wont be Hollister.

Don't know where you are getting that, our aim every season is to stay up and to do well in the divisional cup, which we have done very well for the last couple of seasons and this season is no different. We are normally favouriites for relegation and this season will probably be the same. Your manager said on the ML managers talk that the Noel Butler was back, where did he go to?, he played for the CR U 19's last season.

Noel butler was playing in the Malaysian league. He was voted MVP. Won it all. Decided to move back to conn to play out his glory days with his home club.

Half way through the season, what do people think so far the super League looks like a two horse race with Manulla and Westport out in front. Relegation looks tight with Achill, Glenhest and Ballyheane all in a battle.

Premier league is the same as usual, reminds me of the championship in England anyone can win on any given day, relegation could be one of 6 teams same with promotion Erris and Knock look like their in the driving seat tho.

Snugboro look strong in league one with surprise packages Ballyglass B, Conn B already down I'd imagine with Ballina B or Ballavary to join them..

Bryan Mannion in his first year in management has Castlebar Celtic B in the driving seat in the second division

Mat has a broken collar bone, staples in a head wound, he had concussion after the clash of heads.. We were missing Kyle and Giggs, Kieth is injured, another young lad was gone as well. It was 0 - 3 when the incident happened, ir was tough to carry on, but we lost he 2nd half b 0 - 1, we are in relegation battle

So the leagues went almost according to plan. Westport champs again with the rest playing catch up. Achill found the step up tough as was expected. They will find it tough to make that breakthrough as they will have to rely on an all local policy. its sad to see some teams going down the 'professional' route at a local level and trying to buy sucess. Its not that the prize money is that great to cover the cost.
Reading the Mayo News the merry go round is on full swing again, presumably for the external cup competitions. I wonder will these players go back again once that dream dies.
Still it was great to see Hollister competitive again and Kilmore enjoying success on their return.

How's pre season going for everyone....or still last season for some in the Conn cup & shield?
Manulla looked in good shape despite their result v Finn Harps on Saturday. I expect them to go one better this year as I was told at the game that they are already recruiting a stronger squad. I expect Celtic to be their main rivals now that Nix is back with them.

Hope no one went to Paddy Powers on my predictions! Celtic look good but Manulla have nosedived 😥. They really miss Elding for getting the goals and the Mexicans don't seem to have gelled.
