Cobh's mistake is having a ground at the top of a steep hill. Have it down near the train station and people would flow down, and then stay in your bar as it's too much effort to get out.

These estimated attendances are highly speculative.
Agree / the club house stand alone was pretty full and grand crowd on GAA side - deck not 450 - I think you've solved it regarding it being the bray figure they used. It would help if the club put out the official figure - they must have it as they log my season ticket each time I pass through.

Why don't people like the club? Surely being the place that gave Roy Keane his break would bring people through the gate? I know if I lived in cobh it would and if I'm ever down there when a match is on I'll go along almost purely because of that.

For arguments sake, Harps have been struggling to get 1,000 through the gates lately. We don't have much in the way of bandwagon left. Premier Division novelty has well worn off by now. We're playing Sligo on Friday night, roughly the same sort of distance down the road as Waterford to Cobh. If there's less than 200-250 of us down there I'll be scratching my head wondering why. We had 400 down there this time last season. I would have expected something the same from Waterford last night considering the bandwagon that's in force at the minute.
Its hard enough to get people out to watch the first division let alone to get them to travel. There's no attraction to watch first division teams. Especially when there's the FA cup final on, that guns and roses gig and as well as that music festival. It's a different case scenario when there's the likes of Dundalk, Cork, Rovers, Bohs to travel to. Big names in the LOI, games people will look to it and pinpoint them as the biggest games in the calendar. And the example being, Dundalk away in EA Cup quarter final on a Monday, it was one of our biggest away followings of the season for a 6-8 hour round trip.

I wouldn't be worried that we're bringing 100+ every game we've travelled this year. Especially when you consider the club struggled to get 200/300 at home games last year.

There's been many a time over the years we just about filled a 13 seater bus, this year we're filling a coach and bringing a mini bus.

Rome wasn't built in a day folks. Everything will come in time.

Yeah we probably had 150 at the game in Cobh- two buses and plenty driving. It's the second closest away game but still a two hour drive so not much closer than Dublin. I didn't know there was a stream - some friends had been asking - but maybe from where it was shown you could only see the Blues fans behind the goal and not along the side?

I genuinely didn't think so, I'm sure the fact that they're going well (wanderers that is) is having an effect but a lot of people who support Ramblers would have supported them on their recent cup run especially as most of them are ex Ramblers.

More or less done by someone one their phone standing at the wall behind the goal, couldn't see the section of Blues fans on it. Shows how fan we've come in such a short space a time when bringing 100+ to each away game is considered low following, just got over double that at home games last season most of the time.

You didnt miss much, a good chunk of them spent most of their time arguing with stewards.

On average about 3-4% of an area's population attend their local team's matches. Some punch well above their weight, Like Dundalk and Sligo when they've v successful teams, and some punch well below their weight, like UCD. But on average it's about 3-4% so Cobh's attendances are pretty much what I'd expect.

They are using the admin area for Cork City. Our attendance is closer to 1% than 2.8% in per capita attendance, which, while our attendances are high in league terms, we are probably punching below our weight.

I look forward to John Caulfield asking the media why Cork City aren't marketing their club.

No attendance announced at Tolka and I wouldn't be able to judge the Stand there but 10 minutes before KO I would've guessed around 200 in the ground. SHELS fans saying it was their lowest attendance of the season anyway

Would say 150 or so at Cabinteely v UCD. Excluding those in the bar, cos I couldn't really see how many that was.

3,925 at rovers pats. Don't mean to sound greedy but felt like more. Both fans were in good voice especially in the first half.

    I think I saw 1,868 as Sligo v Harps.

Good Harps crowd down, must have been over 300 there at least. Seats filled and another 100 standing.

Amazing what a couple of wins can do.
