Would I be right in saying this would have been Wexford Youths 10th year in the league?
https://kesslereffect.bandcamp.com/album/kepler - New music. It's not that bad.

10th anniversary in March. We completed 10 seasons. I think there is an accepted waiting period of 2 years in LOI, where a club forgets it is a new entity and absorbs the history of it's predecessor. We won't be any different.

Just like Boyzone, the names Youths was getting that bit more unbelievable as the years went by....

    True.

But clubs which change their name regularly are unlikely to engender much enduring pride, and are hardly showing commitment to themselves even !

I don't think dropping the 'Youths' from the team name will hurt them. If anything, dropping it is an improvement.

When things were going well the name Longford 'town' didn't stop bus loads from coming down from outside of the county let alone the town itself as we had regular busses from Strokestown in county Roscommon among other places while we had supporters from Leitrim and Westmeath. After relegation a lot of that support dwindled away and I would say the Majority of our current support base is from the town. Personally I feel the club don't do anything to entice people from outside the town at present. Today Galway united announced supporters busses running from all over the county to their first home game to go along with the excellent signage they have put up around local clubs to promote the teams home games. Hope it's a success for them.
