Have you a link to Maddens statement?

Every manager is under pressure to produce results in line with fans expectations.

Even if Bradley finished a place higher in 2017 over 2016, Rovers points total actually reduced and in both seasons finished a massive 22 points off the league champions. I very much doubt that similar returns next season would be acceptable to most Rovers fans, even if the u-15's won their league.

You both know that the reaction from Rovers fans to the Madden news has been negative - in some case widely over the top - it will get worse unless a quality replacement is signed

We could get Dani Alves in at right back and some Rovers fans would still say Madden is better.

Jeez Kenny must be under serious pressure so he has really gone backwards....another year of further fall back and the new owners will be giving him the heave....

    Derry signing seven players.
Includes a few from Britain and someone in Dublin.

To be fair, none of the other top teams have deliberately let go a v good starter like Madden. It's just surprising is all.

Sun also reporting that Dundalk are interested in Stephen Folan.

He has a 'plan' to spend loads of money to finish third or fourth again

To be announced tomorrow, we hear.
Unusual move. I wouldn't be overly concerned with it either.

He'll be back up to Massey anyway. Grimes would've have stayed only he couldn't commit to full time.

That may be the intention - but it will be up to Jarvis, assuming he signs, to put pressure on him for a place.

Two good signings for Sligo...looks like Sligo might be putting a more competitive team together for next season

With 36 League games, Europe, FAI Cup, League Cup, there will plenty of matches for new players to feature, a decent squad with good cover in most areas is required to have a good season.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), first Irish club to win points in a group stage in Europe (2016).

I would seriously doubt he will be back up to Massey by the end of the season. Massey has been poor for the last 18 months.

There is little doubt that Dane's form has dipped at times last season. He needs to be challenged and Jarvis is probably better equipped to do that. If the competition causes him to lose his auto place or pushes him to play better, it will justify the signing.
