For anyone interested, it's planned to have audio commentary on tonight's game at the usual link.

Finn Harps secured the point which almost certainly consigns the Youths to the playoffs in what was a tense and nervy affair in Ferrycarrig tonight. In perfect conditions for football, Shane Keegan brought back the newly in-form Danny Furlong and went with Graham, Craig, Lee Grace, Hopper, Andy, Speedy, Jonny, Lee Chin, Roxy and with Spot and Danny up front. The Youths didn't get going at all in the first half with the Harps looking more likely to score. Harps had the first effort on goal after five minutes, but it went a yard wide. On 17 minutes, Curran just couldn't control a through ball with the Youth's defence in a bit of bother. However, the major chance for the Youths came a minute later when Spot Murphy went down when attempting to round Gallagher in the Harps goal but got a yellow for simulation. Had no decent view of the incident myself. Roxy Keenan and Josh Mailey then both got yellows as the cards began to exceed attempts on goal. Jonny Bonner for the Youths had a free pushed round the post by Gallagher before Harps poked the ball over Graham Doyle's crossbar from close in and then Harps should have scored when the Youths gave the ball away in their own half with two minutes to go in the half, but Graham Doyle parried the first shot and the rebound was sent across the goal by the oncoming Harps forward to leave the score at 0-0 at half time.

Youths definitely upped the tempo in the second period with Andy O'Connor, in particular, making good ground down the left. However, with a number of good chances created, virtually everything was hit straight down Gallagher's throat, and he was able to catch or deflect most of the efforts on goal by the Youths. On ten minutes, Danny Furlong had a left-footed effort on goal which Gallagher had to push away at a stretch. Five later, Speedy Whittle had a run at goal from an angle, but Gallagher was able to tip his shot over the bar. Speedy had another effort later on which Gallagher was also able to deal with, while Danny had an acrobatic volley a couple of yards wide. With three minutes to go, Hopper had a drive at goal from close in but Gallagher was equal to the task at his near post. Late subs for Wexford were Duxey Dunne and Shane Dempsey and while Wexford applied pressure late on, they never troubled Harps in the air at the back with sufficient regularity.

Nil-nil at full-time with best for Wexford being Lee Grace who was magnificent at the back, Jonny Bonner in midfield and Andy O'Connor with a storming performance in the second half. For Harps, Ethan Boyle had a super game on Roxy Keenan at right-full. Maybe, 500 at the match.
