Disappointment in Ferrycarrig tonight as the Youths could hardly muster an effort on goal until too late against a Bray side who created the only moments of quality in a drab game. With blustery conditions, Shane Keegan started with Lee Chin in the middle of the back four and went with Graham, Craig, Lee G., Lee C., Andy O'C., Eric, Shane Dempsey, Jonny, Andy M., and with Spot and Roxy up front. First half was particularly poor with neither side able to create much except for one passing move by Bray which resulted in the only goal of the half. On two minutes, Lee Chin did well to cut out a dangerous cross by Bray inside his own area and facing towards his own goal. On five minutes, Wexford's only good delivery into the box - the long throws by Craig McCabe - allowed the ball to drop to Spot Murphy, but his waist-high volley went over. With seventeen gone, Spot couldn't control a good cross from the left by Andy O'Connor, and the chance was lost. In the 23rd minute, first decent chance fell to Bray, when a good move resulted in a shot which Graham could only parry, and the ball fell to Mark Salmon who finished easily for 1-0 to Bray. With Wexford chipping the ball forward against the wind and it proving easy for the dominant Bray defence to deal with in the air, there was hardly a chance for the remainder of the half with yellow cards being shown to Andy O'Connor, Lee Chin and Spot Murphy. 1-0 to Bray at half-time.
