Can't quite believe the last few minutes of that game. Christ we were poor up until that but after our first one went in the second was inevitable. Atmosphere was incredible last 10 minutes.

Some win for dundalk. Last time an away team scored 7 in a game? Us against athlone a few years back I reckon

Great result for us, gutted I wasn't there for it. Stupid work sending me to stupid foreign land. All of a sudden theres a gap at the top. We're hanging on in second with that 4 point gap, which is manageable but gives us very little room for error. But Dundalk have a 10 point gap to Derry and Rovers in 3rd and 4th, and 14 back to Pats in 5th.

The bottom half is interesting, only 6 points between Sligo in 7th and Bray/Longford at the bottom. Bohs could really do with a win tomorrow, though theres ages left but surprising to see them do as poorly as they have so far.

Fun in the Bowl tonight - Conor O'Donnell sent off for aiming a kick at a Cobh player. Went screaming that he was just trying to free his foot. Shouted across to a steward at the steps to the dressing rooms - "Did I kick him or was I just freeing my foot?" "No, you kicked him", the steward said. "Oh", said Conor, and walked off.

We'd used all our subs, so an outfield player had to go in for the last ten minutes. Actually can't remember the last time I saw that at a game - if I've ever seen it. Anyways, bar the penalty, Cobh didn't get a shot on target while he was in nets.

Dundalk for three in a row. Nobody is going to stop them.
What a performance by them. We had no answer to them whatsoever.

Denis Behan played in goal for City back in 2007 I think. Can't remember who it was against. He kept a clean sheet though, and then he got his infamous clean sheet bonus in 2008. God that was a mental year.

Well that was quite the roller coaster in Richmond annoyed that I couldn't go now. We did well against a clearly better Pats side, but I never thought I'd miss Paul Skinner so much. Young Molloy is just not up to it (yet at least). A mention for our superbly named 17 year old centre back Tristan Noack-Hoffman though, didn't put a foot wrong all night.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Good win for the Drogs against Shels. Just about deserved in a tight game.

Also on a side note, it's funny that Richie Towell finally makes his league debut and everyone misses it because LOI is on.

Not surprised that Wexford and Longford done well tonight, always looked to play football in the Showgs even when well behind, Harps despite getting a draw here had nothing to offer.

Enough of that talk now Nigel!

Cork are winning the head to head, Champions League is going to stretch us, we have our captain injured, we have so many injuries to forwards that the manager has had a defender doing attacking training and came on tonight to play up front. It will take a bit of time for the new lad in midfield to settle, then there is the pitch in Oriel and the state of the away pitches, referee decisions are always against us giving soft penalties against us and red cards (see the Cork and Derry games). the dugouts in Oriel and some other grounds are just simply bad and wrong and create an unfair disadvantage where the manager cant see the game properly; look it we are 27 points from relegation and safety is the first priority - when that is mathematically ensured we shall see were we go from there. Too much football has to be played yet so lets not get carried away with ourselves. The league isn't won in May. Shamrock Rovers are the favourites for the league, sure its preordained, same for the Cup, no matter what the bookies have ye thinking. The players are only focused on the next game with Shelbourne, they are a good side and have to be respected so nobody is thinking of titles. One game at a time!!!

Incidentally Dundalk's defenders have scored more league goals than they've conceded this season.

Never been at a game like that in my life. Absolutely crazy. Shattered from just watching it. I'm sorry but Molloy may as well just be released now, he's not up to it at all. Shocking signing.

Dundalk were irresistible tonight. The quality of finishing was top class.

It was unfortunate for Harps that this was the game that everything came together for Dundalk.

Another magnificent performance by the boys. I have to admit I didn't buy into Pat's plan of giving Dundalk a 20-point head start but now we're halfway there I'm starting to see the logic #beleave

Some end to the game. A huge three points for Cork.

What is the story with Kenny Shiels? I was listening to the sports report on RTE on the way back from Donegal and he was alleging that he was surrounded by Cork coaching staff after the game and was subject to sectarian abuse from them.

Tommy Barrett once went in goal for us too, meaning I have seen him play every single position for us be assistant manager of the first team, (caretaker) manager of the first team, assistant manager of the 19s and now manager of the 19s.

Limerick beat Drogheda 1-0 the year we (both) got relegated back in the early 90s.

We went 1-0 up, the our keeper Brian McKenna was sent off when giving away a penalty. Fran Hitchcock went into goals and saved the penalty, and made a few other good saves too. Then he messed up a last-minute cross completely to allow a shot towards an open goal, and a defender gave away another penalty by blatantly saving with his hands. The same player who had taken the first penalty also took the second, and put it wide.
