It's not fair to generalise, but for as long as I can remember arrogance has been closely associated with many Shamrock Rovers supporters

With dundalks current position your comments are easily made but life moves on. Unlikely that in a years time current perspectives will be the same. That's just age and experience talking. But maybe Stephen Kenny will do an Alex Fergie ..time will tell. .. great thing about the Internet is that in 3 years time we can reflect on this. Arogance or patrinisatin is a question of perspective.

He's making a good point that has gone right over your head. Just because you cannot comprehend it, it does not make you right.

It didnt go over my head at all I just dont agree. From the perspective of dundalks current success you and plenty of others think kenny leaving rovers is something for us to regret and from that perspective it would appear that we should. My point is that football and success is normally a transient thing. If dundalk get knocked out in the first round of Europe next year (hopefully not) and some new messiah at rovers gets us to the group stages again then nobody will be talking about how much rovers must regret etc etc. Enjoy your moment in the sun we enjoyed ours and hopefully more to come next year from all 4

It is a not a moment in the sun, Stephen Kenny has brought good times to Dundalk for four years at this stage.

In 2012 we finished second to Pats by three points despite being in a relegation play off the previous year.
In 2013 we won our first title in 18 years
1n 2014 we won the double
In 2015 we qualified for the group stages of the Europa league and are chasing a second double.

In that period Kenny had to manage the loss of leading goalscorers Pat Hoban and Richie Towell.

Stephen Kenny did not become a great manager in the few months between being sacked by Shamrock Rovers and being appointed by Dundalk. He would have been a great manager at Shamrock Rovers too. It just would have taken more time as he started at Dundalk with a blank sheet. At Rovers, there was already a structure in place, players and staff. Kenny insists on a complete buy in to his philosophy at Dundalk. That is not always easy to achieve, especially it would appear at Shamrock Rovers.

While being sacked from Rovers was a difficult time for him, the signs are he is stronger mentally and a better manager for the experience. It has worked out fantastic for both Kenny and Dundalk. The best of luck to ye!

I found a jar of beetroot in the fridge once that was 3 years old. Seems like a moment to me....now a nice 10 year old bottle of red wine smacks of something of substance. : )

All credit to Kenny for what he's done but this is clearly nonsense. He may have become a great manager at Rovers but pretty much all the signs were that he wouldn't. No point getting into the ins and outs of why that was as I'm sure you know, but there's no guarantees of anything especially in a basket case like SRFC was at that time and probably still is.
