After an even first half, an improved second half performance by the away side secured the three points for Galway in Ferrycarrig tonight. As expected, Wexford went with one up front with Danny Furlong suspended and started with Graham, Craig, Lasty, Gary, Danny, Eric, Hopper, Jonny, Andy, Aidan and with Spot up front. Both sides created about two decent chances apiece in an even enough first half. Wexford started well and, after three minutes, Spot sent Andy free down the left wing but Conor Winn in the Galway goal advanced out to block Andy's attempt on goal. On eight minutes, a quick throw by Galway sent one of their forwards in on Graham Doyle, but Graham managed to palm the effort away. On 18 minutes, Gary Delaney got a yellow for a tackle after giving the ball away. Midway through the half, Folan went off for Galway after trying to struggle on with an injury and was replaced by former-Youth, Killian Cantwell. Before the end of the half, both sides had another good chance apiece when Galway's Cunningham had a run at Graham Doyle from an angle, but the latter was able to block the effort. Then Spot Murphy tried to lob Conor Winn in the Galway goal, but his effort went about a yard too high. 0-0 at half-time.
